Usually you get some bonus something. I know with the Chili Peppers, you get early access to tour tickets. I forget what I got for pre-ordering Pearl Jam. But I can't WAIT for it! I keep reading it's the best album in 10 years.

In lots of cases you get bonus tracks, special album artwork, etc.

Yeah, you can download at midnight on the day the album is supposed to be released. Atleast I was able to for the last cd I was waiting to be released.
