An EB Games employee today told GameSpot that the company had sent out promotional materials that strongly suggest Nintendo is planning a GameCube price drop next month. The materials, which were sent for use in the company's next marketing period (May 3 to May 23), include GameCube posters with GameCube-branded stickers that read "New Low Price," according to the employee. A specific price was not listed for the machine, which currently retails for $99.99 new, but it featured a blank number template which employees could fill in should a drop be announced.

What are the must-have GC games?

Both Metroids, Zelda Windwaker, Mario Kart. Other people will say Animal Crossing but it was too "boring" for my taste. Pikmin is cool too.

I also have Fight Night Round 2 (because it's got Super Punch-Out on it!)
Donkey Konga 1 and 2 are great
Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2 if you don't have them already
Some people may disagree, but Super Mario Sunshine is fun
Paper Mario is a must have
If you can find a copy Ikaruga is amazing

I enjoyed Sunshine...I didn't mind the water cannon, but I would have preferred fighting against koopas and goombas though.

I have Ikaruga and it is hard as fuck.

On top of this, a sad note for all Nintendo owners, looks like Twilight Princess is going to end up a Wii title only, probably never going to see the GC.

My guess is he's making a leap that they delayed the game for some additional Revolution functionality as a sign of it eventually becoming a Wii-only LoZ:TP.

Some have said that the Gamecube was finally hacked now for what that's worth.

This coincides well with the price-drop. Meaning I can now afford to chance a hack on a machine that isn't as precious as my current one.
