Muthafucker hasn't produced much these days, but when he does put something out it's great. I get some money and some clout he's the first guy I'm going to for a 48-page GN.

Only a matter of time before Marvel or DC brings him in for a Big Mini.
But he makes Hitch look like fucking Mark Bagley.

He was working on Metabarons for Humanoid Publishing in France. He's gonna be at Heroes Con. I'll ask him about it.

He is slow as fuck. Probably won't do any Marvel or DC stuff unless it's a one-shot or a GN. He tried to do Wildcats back in the day but fell off schedule.

Really love his work. I wish he could produce faster. He was one of the best things to happen at Image, and the only reason I stayed with Wildcats as long as I did.

I've loved his stuff since I first saw it in a Flash Annual (I believe) from the early nineties. He's awesome.

He's my favorite comic book artist... which really sucks, since he doesn't work anymore. I feel like Jimmy Chueng and Dustin Nguyen owe him a debt, style-wise.

I really couldn't stand that early Darkstar art, I thought (and still think) it's some of the worst comic art I've ever seen.
I was completely blown away when Wildcats came out though, I really couldn't believe it was the same guy. It was like Liefeld had suddenly turned into Art Adams or something

Travis is extremely talented! I'm always amazed at his level of detail and his techniques are just plain ridiculous. I'd love to have more of his work in my collection because the only thing I have of his is The WildCATS/X-Men TPB.

Yeah, but Travis was already off the book when Casey came along and made it into that concept. He only managed issues 1-4 & 6 of vol 2. Joe Casey came on at #8...

Moore wrote Wildcats Vol. 1, #21-34, with Travis drawing the majority of those (A few were drawn by Jim lee, Kevin Maguire, and others, but it's mostly Charest). #15-20 were James Robinson & Travis.

That's right. I can never remember the exact issue number of things like this. But now that you said it, I totally remember.
Still, Phillips was excellent. But this is the Travis thread, so, another pic . . . .

I love some Charest Art. I have all of his American work. From the Flash annual and Hulk annual through to the X-men/Wildcats crossover.
Can't wait for that Humanoids GN he been working on. He is a TOP 5 Artist working today.

They're pretty cool. Robinson's issues are pretty cerebral. Then in Moore's, the original Jim Lee team is believed dead and goes back to the alien planet they came from to find things ain't as pleasant as they remembered while a new team assembles back on Earth. The only downside is Wildstorm had two huge, awful crossovers in that time. One at the end of Robinson's run, one in the middle of Moore's. The latter was, like, 21 parts or something. But don't let that stop you from reading the runs. :D

travis is a serious untapped talent. If he so desired to work for marvel or dc in a timely manner he would be at the top and in demand in no time flat.Just one look at his work on the X-men/Wildcats book is proof that he can play in the big leagues from Jim Lee to Brian Hitch(Ultimates 3 art done by him would have killed)
this is one desktop i had saved by him of ladytron(i think was her name:mistrust:)from Wildcats

Are you sure that's Travis? I thought he never did any Marvel work aside from the Wildcats/X-Men Books.
His first comics work was actually that INCREDIBLE HULK ANNUAL #18 (http://groups.msn.com/travischarest/marvel.msnw) and he also did a pin-up in SABRETOOTH #1.
oh man, I'm gonna have to read these.
The Alan Moore/Travis Charest issues are also collected in two trades: WILDC.A.T.S: GANG WAR (http://groups.msn.com/travischarest/wildcats.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=1289) and HOMECOMING. (http://groups.msn.com/travischarest/wildcats.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=1288)
Currently, he's doing the covers to the STAR WARS: KNIGHTS OF THE REPUBLIC series. Here's the first one:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v174/choisez/9884a132.jpg
Btw, issue #3 comes out this week too.
He's also still working on METABARONS: DREAMSHIFTERS, which will hopefully come out in the next year. In the meantime, there's a set of prints from the book still available here. (http://www.humanoids-publishing.com/products/prod.php?id=74)
Not to mention, more updates and a SPACEGIRL strip posted semi-regularly here. (http://groups.msn.com/travischarest/spacegirlcomic.msnw?Page=1)

Travis is an amazing talent. I only wish he'd be more productive. I've got the Dreamshifters preview and the 11x17 print set. I think he's been working on art for Dreamshifters for about 4 years, and from what I read, it's only a 52 page book. So it seems he's working at a pace of about one page every month.
