There is a article over at aintitcool that talks about Simpsons teasers being attached to Ice Age 2. I can't tell if it is true or just an April Fools joke. Has anyone here heard anything about this?

The reason some think it is a joke is because in the article they say that they are only attached to select prints, which seems kind of odd.

Supposedly during this Sundays episode of The Simpsons they are promising an announcement of something "Simpsons fans have waited 17 years for".

I just saw it! :D

It was very short, just one line from Homer ("I forgot what I was supposed to say!"), but it was still awesome to see it on the screen!

Juuuust prior to the show airing, when they were still just that funny cartoon family from Tracey Ullman, they showed a theatrical short before some shitty movie.

Okay, I pretend not to know what it was, to hide the shame of my having been there. It was Weekend at Bernie's 2.

It was so cool seeing a cartoon short before a movie. Like in olden times.

So if they are doing it...when can we see them on-line?

My sister and mom did, and they reported having seen it, but saying it was "Lame."

Supposedly, it has the Superman symbol on the screen, and then dialouge saying "Next Summer There Will Be A Hero to Save Us All" Then the camera pulls away and we see Homer sitting on his couch wearing a Superman shirt too small for him saying (according to them) "I forgot my line." Narrator: When will this movie be coming out? And then Mr. Burns saying "Excellent." Then the words July 27th 2007.

This is probably very misquoted, but this is the info that I have for now.

I went to a talk about The Simpsons a few years ago with some producers, writers, voices, and stuff. One of the producers said this was going to "suck hard."

Judging by the way the show's been handled in recent seasons, i'm not surprised.

If it's good, fantastic. If it sucks, well... crap.

It turns out we do have the trailer for The Simpsons Movie. Its the Superman Homer one. Its literally 20 seconds though so if you weren't planning on seeing Ice Age 2 I'd save the money and wait to see it online or on TV.
