There was only one good thing about that scene, and that was Cynthia Rothrock showing up towards the end. And unfortunately, even THAT wasn't good because it wasn't one of her better moments.

I had forgotten all about this film. Damn you for reminding me, DAMN YOU!!!

i don't know whether to laugh or cry at that because it's so horrible.

Your Pal, Carl

That was hardly the best fight scene of all time.

As a side note, my sister misses the 80s more than I do, and she was never even a part of them. :?

pretty sure the intent of the thread was to relive the cheesiness of a lot of 80s movies, especially that genre.

Yup, methinks so too. But god damn, American martial arts movies were SOOOOOOO fucking bad :nonono2:

That was actually painful for me to watch :surrend:

The guys I can barely remember but Rothrock should never work outside Asia. She just shouldn't :(

Well I'm happy to report that while I've seen it, I can't remember anything about it other than that I HAVE seen it

:D

:)

 That doesn't help as much as I thought it might :(

Damnit, I miss MST3K. I guess I'll cover for them while they're gone.

Movie Guy: "Yeah..."
Me in Movie Guy Voice: thinking... thinking...
Movie Guy: "See ya around."
Me in Movie Guy Voice: I don't get it.

Segal in the 80s was fine to watch, martial arts wise :p

And acting wise sometimes when you count the fact that je spent so much time in Japan that his mannerisms and stuff were more Japanese.

Van Damme, when he's not posing, is good too. It just so happens that unless John Woo is directing him, he can't stop posing.

Segal's acting sucks!

and Van Damme is so full of himself it transcends ridiculous.

and yes, I used to watch them in the 80s. Can't do it now.

I agree. Most of the time. There have been a few times though when I've enjoyed him. But to be honest, I never watched Segal for his acting anyway. It was always for the Aikido. I'll still sit down and watch his movies if I have nothing else to watch.

Van Damme is BEYOND full of himself. The guy seemed to think he was gods gift to martial arts movies just because he could throw an awesome kick. The only movie of his I can watch anymore is Hard Target. And thats purely because John Woo told him (I remember it being in some magazine, and knowing Woo's reputation I believe it) to "stop fucking posing every three seconds and get back to doing what he was being paid for". Woo bitch slapped the hell out of him, and I prayed to god that Van Damme would get over himself and work with him again sometime since he might actually become an actor instead of a dope who could fight reasonably well on camera. And of course, he didn't :?

I'm not even sure if I saw what you're on about. I'm assuning that was Mystery Science Theatre 3000 (or something like that)?

You DO remember that I live in IRELAND..... right? :?

I didn't have access to movie channels for a long time, and I never saw that in our video store.

Actually, I'm not sure I've seen it in any store over here before :dunno:

It's not my fault I never saw it :miffed:

Mostly I think I miss the Bank Holiday weekends. I miss getting time off. It's a concept that should be adopted in the states.

I'm in favor of this. By my count either March or April, June and August need holidays. So let's get with the holiday inventin'.

March can have Hamfest, because that's something we actually have around here. A big celebration for...ham. I suppose pork products in general would work.

April can have National Kitty Day, because kitties are awesome and should be celebrated.

June can have Simpsons Day, because that show will obviously be on FOREVER, and we should just get it over with. I welcome our yellow overlords.

August can have Baby Makin' Day, because half the people I know have birthdays in August.

Today is Caesar Chavez day. My s.o. has it off since she's an employee of the State of California.

The failure of the plan for holidays for us is that many of us on here work in computer games, and won't see holidays even if they occur. Whereas the company I was visiting in Dublin seemed to actually get their monthly Bank Holidays. Sniff. Whimper. Whine. Bitch.

I know almost no one with August birthdays. March, May and July on the otherhand are filled with womb escaping anniversaries.

No. SF State, which is the same school system as Long Beach, so I'm not too surprised it's the same.

I live in Pennsylvania. There's nothing to do here in November, so people make babies.
