Best/Worst Movie Sequals

In your opinion what are the Best and Worst movie sequals.

Best: Godfather Part II
I really have a hard time choosing between Godfather and Godfather Part II as my favorite film of the series. Both are masterpieces, but Part II has DeNiro (my favorite actor) so that sometimes gives it a bump, but Part I had James Caan's Sonny (so many great scenes with him Bride's Maid, Garbage can lid, and Toll Booth all come to mind).

But as sequals go Godfather Part II is definately my favorite.

Honorable mentions: Bride of Frankenstein, Spider-Man 2, X-Men 2, Die Hard with a Vengence (I loved this movie, shut up).

Worst: Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan
Only except he didn't. He was hardly in Manhattan in the film. It should have been called Jason Takes a Dingy-Made-Up-To-Look-Like-A-Cruise-Ship.

Dishonorable mentions:A Nightmare on Elm St. II, Superman III, Superman IV, and Eddie and the Cruisers II

Worst- Almost everything else.

I think I'm going to be very unoriginal here and say that X-Men 2 was a darn fine sequel, and the worst sequel ever is Batman and Robin. Every couple of years I forget how godawful it is and attempt to watch it when it comes on TV. I can never get through more than 10 or 15 minutes before I feel like washing my eyes with gasoline. It really is as bad as everyone says and there is really no reason to stop saying so, lest we forget.

Best Sequels: Aliens SpidermanII X-Men 2 I can't really count Empire since technically it's part of a trilogy.

Worst sequels: Alien 3 Batman Forever and Batman and Robin Highlander 3 The Crow:City of Angels Superman III and IV Star Trek V Star Trek generations(watching static is preferable than watching that movie) Oh and Aliens Resurection

Godfather 2 is so far and away better than any other sequel that you're really talking about the 2nd best sequel.

Godfather 2 might be better than the first Godfather.... and that's saying something.

Best is Empire. I mean, Star Wars is considered a classic, and Empire bitch slaps it and makes it call it Master Chief.

Worst. Are we talking worst overall or worst compared to the orig? Overall, Duece Bigalo or the Friday 13s. Worst compared to the original, Phantom Menace. (and don't give me prequel crap, it's still a followup)

I love Exorcist 3, and it gets no love. I've heard people call it crap, but I swear they're just lumping it in with the second because it didn't do well and because the original is what it is. . The movie is fucking creepy and well written.

Agreed. This is the only movie that has frightened me since I was 12. It's just creepy and unsettling.

Their number 1 worst sequel was Stayin' Alive. It's been so long since I've seen it I can't say for sure, but I don't doubt them.

MI:2 is THE WORST sequel ever. Its the only movie Ive ever taken back to the store and said "This isthe worst movie Ive ever seen and i absolutely want nothing to do with it." They gave me my money back, too!

I have to give some love to Godfather III - it ain't that bad, and definitely not the worst. Doesn't even compare to the first two, but as sequels go, it's pretty watchable and there's some good stuff there like Andy Garcia.

Best Sequel: Godfather II, I think this is scientifically proven, but not sure).

Worst Sequel: Blues Brothers 2000, because it completely pisses on the memory of John Belushi.

and Godfather II was great The Last Crusade was great and Aliens wasn't horrible, but none of them are better than the originals
