View Full Version : Are both USM and UFF ignoring the Ultimates current storyline?
I know the UFF are going to other dimensions but USM and the Ultimates are both located in NY so is there any mention of NY being invaded?

I belive Ultimates 2 is a year in the future of the other Ultimates.
But don't think too much on it. Trying to figure out Ultimate continuity has given migraines to many board members before you.

I find it harder keeping track of Ultimate Universe continuity then I do the supposedly bogged-down 616 Universe.

Apparently, people get confused when things aren't referenced in other books? I don't get it. It's not hard to figure out.

They haven't gotten to the that point yet, as they're both in the middle of their own storyarcs. Once the arcs are done you'll probably see it mentioned, and what happened with Fury simply can't be ignored.

Only when people worry about pointless crap and exagerate a lot.
Aside from the fact that Millar said in several interviews that it takes place in the future so nothing gets in the way, shouldn't it be kinda obvious? I mean... An year is an year. If the other books don't say "one year later" like the first issue of vol. 2 did everything would be taking place beforehand, right? What's so difficult to understand there?

BENDIS! mentioned this at the NY Panel. Due to the delays and what not that Ultimates suffers, the other books aren;t going to deal with it till Ultimates 2 is over

Whats hard?
New York city just gets invaded by a super human task force from another country, starts rounding up civilians and launches a full scale attack on The Ultimates base.
People are confused about the fact that USM and UFF, both situated IN New York, have yet to reference this invasion.
Pretty simple to see why people are confused if you ask me :?
And as stated ds9, I believe Ultimates is set a bit ahead of the other titles. I think Joe Q said that they won't reference the Ultimates in another Ultimate title until said arc is finished. They might reference up as far as issue 6 of volume 2 if they want, but issue 7 to 12 are off limits until it's out completely.

Uuuuum, why would you have to guess that if they say it takes place one year later? How could they be anymore obvious? I don't understand this at all. :surrend:

Sorry, but I have no clue what your on about mate. You want to be a bit more specific about what in my post confused you, because you've lost me completely.

No, it's pretty simple. You see how in USM and UXM, the Ultimates are like how they were before the events of the current Ultimates arc? Right, does that sentence not pretty much explain it? One happens......before the other.

I prefer that it simply be reflected in Ultimates and after the fact. I'm glad to see Spider-man appearing in Ultimates.

Yeah. I know that. I even stated as much. I was just pointing out how someone could be confused. Some people might think that the comics are supposed to run concurrantly, since USM, UXM and UFF have all started and finished quite a few arcs each since Ultimates 2 started. It's a simple thing to mix up.

Yup, I was just gonna say this (come on dsp, you were there). He essentially said they know Hitch is gonna take a while to get the runs finished, so they've worked around it in the other books for now.

Becasue of the production schedual on Ultimates, it's easier to make mention of the stories after they've happened, rather then run the risk of spoiling Millar's story.

Me too. I'm hoping Spidey show up in Ultimate Extinction. I don't see it happening, but it'd be cool.

And of course, my obligitory remark about how you should just enjoy a comic for what it is an not worry about how it fits into any "universe"

If Ultimates 2 is occuring a year ahead of USM, why would USM reference events in the future?
