I absolutely adore McNiven's art! I just noticed Steve got a board here and HE'S POSTING ON IT!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
I first saw you on Meridian when you took over for Middleton. Your run on MK 4 was INSANE (I'm bugging Marvel for a HC collection)! I was so bummed to see you leave that book, I mean work with Ellis on an Ultimate title??? But then you collaborated with Bendis on New Avengers....so I can live with that, now you have Civil War (but with that hack Millar). :p
I'm so pumped!
DUDE YOUR ART IS THE STUFF!!!
Okay, end fanboy raving.
LOVE YOUR WORK McNIVEN!!!!!!!
okay, now I'm done...for now.

I love McNiven's art so much I joined my very first Internet forum, to tell him how much I liked his work. I first caught his work on Marvel Knights 4, then went back to buy Meridian from Cross Gen. The first sketch I ever got was from McNiven at a convention in Toronto, back when MK 4 first came out. He was incredibly nice. He stayed well past an hour to do sketchs for people, like me, who couldn't be back the next day. It was me and about 4 other guys who all stood around and talked with him about how he got started at Cross Gen, who'd he'd like to draw, etc. Steve McNiven is a completely open, honest, and fun artist whose work is amazing. Since that Toronto convention I've made it a point to buy what even book he's come to draw. And now that fanboy-dom has lead me here. Thank you Steve McNiven.

I have to say Steve and Morry (Morrey? Morri?) together are a froce to be reckoned with. Wow! All my favourite creators are getting forums here it seems..
Mcgowan i pretty much agree with everything you said. Possibly my favourte artist in a long time.

I find it equal parts funny/frustrating that I have such a cartoony style, but all the artist I love, ans whose books I actually buy are like Steve, Paquette, Hitch, etc.
I really like the use of wide, cinematic panels in Civil War. Reminds me a lot of Haynes' Daredevil: Ninja, (not so great story, really amazing layouts).
