Noob that I am, I do not understand the recurring Kubiak theme (no offense to the Kub himself). Can someone provide me with the backstory?

And for those of you who have every comic Brian's written, it's time to start collecting the games he's worked on, too.

How's everything going Brian?

You still on fire or have you gone out yet?

We need a checklist for that too. :)
I'll start with what we'll call the Treyarch Years:

Minority Report (which my coworkers still claim is seriously underrated as a brawler)
Ultimate Spider-Man

Brian can flesh out the other titles as he sees fit.

And for those of you who have every comic Brian's written, it's time to start collecting the games he's worked on, too. There was a long tradition of having some sort of chat thread run for a long time on the board. The Kubiak threads started as a little bit of a lark on the duck avatar. At a time of "crisis" the chat group attached itself to the Kubiak thread. Last soring and summer, the amount of people involved in it grew beyond anybody's wildest nightmare.

If you ever want to post something that is completely random or senseless, and do want to start a new thread, this is a good place. Of course, recently all of the cool kids have been posting in the TIP Thread.

Sowwy! :surrend::lol:

A little bit of a bio might be helpful. I know very little. He was one of the primary writers of the Ultimate Spiderman video game, so I had assumed that he's worked in the video game field for a while. Bendis turned him and a co-worker, Chris Busse on to his board while they were developing the game, and they both latched onto the Kubiak Thread early one. Chris used to post a whole lot, but he hasn't been around for a while. I think Brian was posing here before he wrote his first book for Marvel but again, I may be mistaken.

i have over like 150 different comics based off of him. and by comics i mean like, one page drawings of him and labelling his different uv powers. we were very cruel because he was also not very nice in the class. and other kids also drew them, and they tended to focus on the fact he was like 400 pounds in their comics. mine, well, he went on UV adventures.

yeah. he had umbrellas and sunglasses every time he had to go outside. we think the colour blindness is a direct result of the uv ray seeing. he was blind for like three years, and after a bunch of surgeries now sees uv rays. he kept a case of 'dr. thunder', imitation wal mart styled dr. pepper, in the mini fridge he brought into the room.

oh you know. UV ADVENTURES.

they were anything from uv being a psychedelic drug where since he could see them he could go into other worlds, riding rainbows and the like, or the uv being a curse upon him that made him go psychotic. either that or him and uv would hang out by the pool, all looking at each other knowingly.

it was a whole years worth of comics, every day in class we would do them and pass them around the room.

Oh wow... I'm green.

It's not that easy being green
Having to spend each day the color of the leaves
When I think it could be nicer being red, or yellow or gold
Or something much more colorful like that

It's not easy being green
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things
And people tend to pass you over 'cause you're
Not standing out like flashy sparkles in the water
Or stars in the sky

But green's the color of Spring
And green can be cool and friendly-like
And green can be big like an ocean, or important
Like a mountain, or tall like a tree

When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why, but why wonder why
Wonder, I am green and it'll do fine, it's beautiful
And I think it's what I want to be

This developement leaves me uneasy.

My turning green left you uneasy, but the sudden breaking out in Kermit the Frog song was okay?

Why are there so many songs about rainbows
and what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,
and rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some choose to believe it.
I know they're wrong, wait and see.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

Who said that every wish would be heard
and answered when wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that and someone believed it.
Look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps us star gazing
and what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

All of us under its spell. We know that it's probably magic.

Have you been half asleep and have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling my name.
Is this the sweet sound that called the young sailors.
The voice might be one and the same.
I've heard it too many times to ignore it.
It's something that I'm supposed to be.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.
