Arrested Development - The final (?) season announced
3/10/2006
Producer Ron Howard's critically-acclaimed, fan-favorite series about the weird and wacky Bluth family returns for its third (and possibly final) uproarious season. Emmy winner for Outstanding Comedy Series, "ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT" has attracted a cult following of die-hard fans with its uniquely witty characters and outrageously funny storylines.
With the fate of the series still up in the air (there's talk of Showtime picking it up), Fox is planning to release the third season on June 13. This 2 disc set will contain the 13 episodes produced for season 3 (286 mins). The set will sell for $29.98, but you can preorder it on Amazon.com for just $21.99.
1. Disc 1: The Cabin Show
2. The British Bombshell
3. Forget Me Now
4. Notapusy
5. Mr. F
6. Ocean Walker
7. Prison Break-In
Disc 2:
8. Making A Stand
9. S.O.B.s
10. Fakin' It
11. Family Ties
12. Exit Strategy
13. Harboring Resentment
The Anamorphic Widescreen (1.78:1) picture will be accompanied by an English Surround audio track, and English, French and Spanish subtitles. We haven't heard what the bonus material will be, but there should be some on the set.

Nice that we won't have to wait long to get this season's set.
Anyone else notice that the last episode is listed under its previous title, "Harboring Resentment"? It ended up being called "Development Arrested".

I hope we get a bit more commentary, etc on this set, since it might be the last time that cast is all in one place at the same time.

It should be no surprise that I'm definitely picking this up the day of its release.
I really believe the show is continuing. Here's why: When those rumors came out a few weeks ago about Showtime picking it up for 26 episodes, the producers made no response. They didn't deny it. They didn't say "no comment." They didn't say, "Discussions are ongoing." Silence. Admission by silence. I think the deal has been made and no one can talk about it until Fox officially "cancels" it. Tim Goodman, a journalist who's been a huge supporter of the show, has basically confirmed the deal has been made, even though it's not really public yet.
I don't know if its true, but I have to believe it. I just have to believe it. Clap your hands if you believe! "You're a crook, Captain Hook." :)

About a week ago Tim Goodman (of the SF Chronicle, I think) said that there would be an announcement any day now confirming that it was picked up. There hasn't been any word, but he's not the sort of reporter that would say something like that unless he was pretty damn sure.

Can't wait to pick this up. As Season 3 really turned me on to Arrested Development in the first place.

i thought season 3 was kind of a letdown. some amazing episodes, as always, but it wasnt up to par. still, its a definite purchase because even sub-par Arrested Development is better than 99% of tv.

Yeah having almost a third of the season tied up with the Wee Britain storyline wasn't the best.
The Cabin Show is one of my favorite episodes of the series. So damn funny.

Agreed...they really started the season off with a well-written bang.

I liked the Wee Britain storyline. My wife and I still reference Mr. F. And the end of that arc was brilliant, with Tobias walking on water. I fell off the couch laughing.

Definitly one of the funniest tv moments I've watched.
I was just about to say the arc was worth it for that moment.

I think the Wee Britain storyline went on a bit too long.
That said, "Mr. F" and "The Ocean Walker" are two fantastic episodes.
There's another great aspect introduced in Season 3 that we shouldn't forget. BOB LOBLAW! I hope if they do shift to Showtime, they bring back Henry Winkler and Scott Baio to reprise their roles. I'd love to see Barry Zuckercorn versus Bob Loblaw. :)

I thought the whole Wee Britain thing was a pretty wonderful satire of the kind of show Fox wanted them to be.
And Tobias screaming off camera "Why am I not sinking?!" may have been the greatest moment in sitcom history. I was in physical pain I was laughing so hard.
