Hey Steve--

Thanks for leaving such an incredibly high bar on Marvel Knights 4. Your caliber of work left FF fandom at large aching for your return, and fledgling artists thrust on the title didn't know what was in store. You would think hearing "he's good, but he's not McNiven," would get tiresome. But good points need to be driven home with fierce repetition.
I'll have you know that most of my pencils, pens and artboards have been cremated and the remains are sitting under a stack of Meridian comics.
:surrend:

Of course this is all in good fun. If you meet this guy (I had the pleasure on 2 occasions, though I don't know if he'll remember me) you'll find out he's one of the most humble and gracious artists to work in this industry, deserving of every last scrap of praise and good fortune coming his way.

Best,
Valentine De Landro, former penciller on Marvel Knights 4

Hey Valentine, I remember you. You did some great work on MK4!
Thanks for the post.
And that's not humility, just the sad entrenched maritime fatalism I carry around with me.
See you in Toronto.

I've been sitting here, staring at this post for about 10 minutes, just trying to find something to say. Not only is Steve McNiven such a nice person in (well...) person... Valentine De Landro is also a very nice person to meet. I've had to pleasure of meeting both of you. You two are some of the nicest creators I've met.

Kudos to both of you on all your work and success.

Steve, I'm so looking forward to Civil War. The previews have been beautiful.

Valentine, anything in store for you in the near future?

Thanks Jason, you've been a big support and I appreciate it.:)

Marvel's still keeeping me around. I'm guest-scribbling A 2-issue arc on Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane that'll hit stands in May. Also a few other projects in the works, announcements will be made soon.

Back to Steve and Civil War, it is looking great, isn't it? Those of you in the T.O. area, The Comic Room (http://thecomicroom.com/events.html) is offering 25% off all Civil War related titles -- awesome deal. South of Lawrence on McCowan. Good bunch of guys there.

Looking forward to the announcements and Spidey/MJ.

Never been to the Comic Room. One of the many shops in the city I've yet to drop into.
