Mikkelsen is le villain in 'Casino' pic

The cast of Sony's "Casino Royale" is near completion. Mads Mikkelsen will fill the shoes of James Bond nemesis Le Chiffre, sources confirmed. The Danish actor joins Daniel Craig and Judi Dench in the Martin Campbell-helmed film, which began principal photography Jan. 27 in Prague. All that's missing now is a leading lady for the martini-loving agent; the studio is expected to make an announcement within days. In the book, which was Ian Fleming's first in the long-running series, Bond matches wits with Le Chiffre while playing high-stakes baccarat. The evil genius, also known as the Number or the Cipher, is a banker for terrorists and criminals with a penchant for torture. Le Chiffre is rumored to have been inspired by British occultist Aleister Crowley. (Tatiana Siegel)

they keep saying this is going to be truer to the spirit of the books, but this was the slowest book in the whole series, Bond spends 2/3rds of it sitting at a Baccarat table

Act 1: Bond teaches the audience how to play Baccarat
Act 2: Bond plays Baccarat, bankrupting the evil Communist plot
Act 3: Bond gets his genitals mutilated

Roll credits.

It's my very favorite of the books, and while the movie could be great, I imagine it will bear little resemblance to novel.

i heard they changed it from baccarat to texas hold 'em.
and I just don't think the studio has the balls (no pun intended) to go with the genitals scene.
after seeing campbell's directorial work in legend of zorro, I'm really weary of what he's going to do to this flick.
If it were up to me I'd put a call in to tarantino. but that's just a wet dream of mine with pretty much no chance of happening.

Isn't that the reason Bronson was dropped in the first place?

Isn't that the reason Bronson was dropped in the first place?

what reason?
there were so many rumors about why Brosnon left. Who knows what the real reason is.

I heard he got threatend with a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick to the mug and he left.
