Tonight is going to be an amazing night of television in my household.
Four episodes (2 hours) of AD-goodness.
Followed by an all new episode of Battlestar Galactica guest-starring Dana Delany.
Fantastic! :)

Yeah...and a year ago David Cross said the show was done on Jimmy Kimmell (before the 3rd season was greenlit) so lets not nail the door on the coffin until we absolutely have to.

this made my year, tv wise.
my prediction about Anne came true... that's almost all i needed from the finale.
i fucking jumped up and down screaming when they showed her. i knew it was a given, but it was still nice to see after months of speculation.
wrapping up onnyong's cameo this season hiding out in the walls was great too.
one thing i cant figure out (ill have to rewind later) what was with tobias bringing a plastic ziplock into the secret room all about in the first episode tonight? i know thats his gay masturbatorium, but i didn't get what the ziplock was for.
oh, i also wanted george michael and maebe together at the end, but that was pretty close to happening :)

if that doesnt work, then george sr sent him to get some evidence...

It would be easier to say what didn't.
In the end, the brothers go to Iraq and find several Hussein lookalikes living in a model home (or maybe only some of them are fakes...). They find proof that George Sr. really was a CIA patsy and they get the CIA to help drop all charges. Maebe and GM hook up again, Lindsay finds out she's adopted, GM tells Michael about Maebe, George Sr. reveals that Lucille has been the mastermind, Annyong reveals that he has been trying to bring the family down for ruining his grandfather's banana stand business thirty years ago. Buster fakes a coma, Michael mistakes a prostitute for his long lost sister, Tobias dates a body builder, GOB dates Ann, Maebe is outed as a 16-year old but doesn't lose her job, Lindsay hits on Michael, GOB hits on Lindsay, Lucille is arrested (but not before hijacking the Queen Mary, the ship), Michael and GM sail to Cabo San Lucas on the C-Word, and Ron Howard appears (finally) to let us know that the whole situation would never work as a TV show.
But maybe...as a movie!
I've forgotten, maybe half the stuff.

That was one of the most pitch perfect evenings of television I've ever experienced, honestly.
What a stunningly good finale.
There's way too much to comment on at the moment. From the mock trial featuring William Hung and Judge Reinhold, to the guest appearance of Justine Bateman as "Nellie," to the fantastic stuff with George Michael/Maeby sprinkled throughout. And the stunning twist about whether or not George Michael and Maeby are really related.
Absolutely brilliant.
You know, I'd like the show to continue someplace else, obviously. But if it doesn't, I think I'd be content. I mean, I'll always have 53 brilliant episodes to revisit and enjoy on DVD.
Lots of resolution, lots of closure, and I have to say, given that final "epilogue," I really doubt the show will continue. Everything I've read suggests that Showtime wants the show for two seasons, all Mitch has to do is sign off on it. But I get the impression that he's done. The show has been such a struggle, always under threat of cancellation. I think Mitch will probably move on.
And like I said...if he does, I'm contented in knowing that we got a very satisfying, fitting conclusion to one of the greatest television comedies of all time. :)

When Judge Reinhold casually said, "I hate this judge getup, it makes me look fat. It doesn't show all the weight I've lost."
And then he showed up in the absolute skinniest judge gown I've ever seen, it was hillarious.
God I'm going to miss this show.

This was definitely one of the best television shows of the last ten years. I'm sorry to see it go.

Work and forgetting to tape it made me miss almost the entire season, including tonight's finale .

Of course I'm still waiting for the SPIKE film on the WB...

I think the Alias reference everyone is talking about happens in "Exit Strategy."
When the word "IRAQ" appears on the screen and the camera "pushes through" the word to the action...that's trademark ALIAS. :)
Unless there's another ALIAS reference I'm missing.

Then she was revealed to be "Nellie" Bluth last night. Coincidence? Doubt it. :)

That line was from "Mr. F" actually.
Tobias also had an ALIAS line in "Visiting Ours" ("See, if I gave a performance that good, I’d have my own Alias-type show.").
