Corddry waxes for 'Glen'

"The Daily Show" correspondent Rob Corddry has landed the title role in Fox's comedy pilot "Becoming Glen," while Angie Harmon has been tapped to star in ABC's drama pilot "Secrets of a Small Town." On the pilot pickup front, ABC and NBC have ordered two comedies each. "Becoming Glen," from 20th Century Fox TV, Ricky Blitt and Seth MacFarlane, centers on a successful fortysomething man who looks back at 1994, when he was a 32-year-old slacker (Corddry) living with his parents and spending all his time lying on the couch watching TV. It's been a very successful pilot season for brothers Rob and Nathan Corddry, both members of the fake news team of Comedy Central's "Daily Show." Last week, Nathan Corddry was cast in another high-profile pilot, Aaron Sorkin and Thomas Schlamme's drama for NBC, "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip."

It's like college basketball; they get a new starting five every few years or so.

Rob Corddry was fantastic on Curb Your Enthusiasm.

My prediction for "Becoming Glen"? I will like it, the board will like it, no one else will watch it and it will be cancelled after six weeks.

Well, if they play up the fact that the guys behind Family Guy are the creators, it might stand a slight chance.

So it'll get cancelled, do well on DVD, and the restart in a couple of years.

That's what we should all strive for.
