Probably not for a long time. Im friendly enough with them but Im seen as a "Marvel guy" these days so I cant imagine them asking me to work with them for awhile.

Do you think the company rivalry hurts artists like yourself?

I mean, you have a decent relationship with DC, but you don't think they will offer you a job bacause your a "Marvel guy". Sounds a little f'ed up to me.

Personally I think Mike would be better suited as a DC Guy instead of a Marvel Guy.
It sorta like Chris Bachalo. He was SOO ill-suited drawing X-men!

Chris Bachalo did his best work when he was drawing "real" human beings like in Death and Shade. Steampunk was also very well suited.
These are down to earth people one van relate to. He draws emotions, gestures better than big bulky fight scenes.
When you compare his Captain America and X-men with these works, it's easy to see why so many people are also pinning for a return to Vertigo.

Oeming's art style is not something Marvel would put him on. It's too cartoony, too dark for the tastes of the Marvel reader.
DC has a more diverse library of characters that can take his style, even Batman can take this dark style. Because these characters are more iconic in nature and less naturalistic (what I consider Marvel's characters)

Only Thor would work in Mike's style.

Puns aside, if there's a character I'd like to see you draw, it's Captain Marvel.

Meanwhile... Photon?!
That's crap. Still, if there's going to be one, single Captain Marvel - I'd rather DC's.

It's not that I am saying I like Marvel more than DC books, becauseI am truly a DC man more often than Marvel. However, I do buy a lot of the Ultimates...

That said, I think both companies have plenty of stuff for Oeming to tackle. Who's to say one art style works better than another. Dave McKeon and Jim Lee have both pulled off Batman. One is straight-forward comic look and the other is...well..Dave McKeon.

My point is, Oeming can pull off anything he wants to. Imagine Oeming on Wolverine or Punisher or Daredevil. I think any of those would be great. Believe me, Marvel has plenty of stuff for him to do if they so choose.

Besides, I'd prefer that he not take on too many other art chores as I love POWERS. He can write all he wants and even do a guest pin-up (hint) now and then, but POWERS be the shit I like. (although Stormbreaker has been pretty cool)

Personally I hope he stay's at marvel for as long as they want. He can work on plenty of stories for the numerous charactorsif it wasn't for JMS already doing a relaunch. I'd bet that mike could do an awesome silver surfer. He already made one herald look cool with stardust

He did some work in a DC comic I have from years ago... I don't remember what it is, but I could probably dig it up. A coworker I had gave me a box of comics one summer, and I found a short thing by Oeming in one. It was nice!

He ain't look at the latest Uncanny issue, the story is wacko like always, but Bachalo is able to tell his own story, which makes a great story out of it
