I spent over $40 this week but have only read 3 books so far.
Uncanny X-Men 469 has to be the best issue of Uncanny in 10 years. It's amazing what Claremont can do when he isn't fucked over by editorial.
New Excalibur #4 was also great. I loved that Nocturne has 40 years of Beatle hits on her otherdimentional Ipod. Great stuff.
X-Factor #3 More great X-Book goodness. I'm glad that they get a fill-in that kinda has the same moody stylle as Sook. I can't wait until Sook can do a full issue though.
I peeked at Rann/Thanagar Special ...
I cant believe they killed Jade in a book other than Outsiders. I buy Outsiders as a trade & I'd be pissed if I didn't read this special. Plus Killing Jade is a stupid idea.

Let me see...
Captain America #14: OH MY GOD. Issue of the week, one of the best of the year so far. Amazing artwork, and Brubaker brought this to a really cool conclusion. Very intrigued to see where we go from here.
Saga of Squadron Supreme: Very cool recap of everything to this point. If you're confused or uncertain about ANYTHING, get this.
The Sentry #5: Very spoilerific, and par for the course as far as high quality goes.
Supreme Power: Nighthawk #6: This felt like filler. There was a half issue's story to tell, and they told it in a full issue. Odd, but good.
Y: The Last Man #42: This only brought up more questions. Tons of backstory regarding Ampersand.

Awesome batch this week. I was really impressed by a lot of books!
X-Factor- PICK OF THE WEEK! Holy shit... THAT'S AN ENDING! Never thought I'd be this sold on X-Factor, but PAD and Sook have me hooked! And to think, people thought Layla Miller was a lame new character... 9/10
Captain America- Another awesome ending. Brubaker and Epting bring their first major story to a close. The Winter Soldier's fate isn't too shocking, but the way we get there is the fun part. Hopefully these two stay on this book for quite some time. 9/10
Spidergirl- Great stuff. I loved how Defalco tied Jim Rhodes' return into Wanda's current status. Pretty cool, without directly referencing. Yet another cool ending, too. Seems like Kaine's attempt to help has horribly misfired. What a great twist! 9/10
The Sentry- Man, with 3 issues left, Jenkins has still managed to keep the break-neck pace up quite well. JR is stunning as ever. Really loving this mini, because, similar to Son of M, I really have no idea where it's going. Gotta love when a comic does that. 9/10
Fantastic 4- Ok, this was easily JMS' best issue since he came on. He really did his Hulk research, and that's really great to see. Nice foreshadowing of the current events in the Hulk's title, too. The Franklin Richards back-up story was a lot of fun, too. 9/10
New Excaliber- Art's a little shifty this month. While I'm not terribly sold on Excaliber as a whole, there were some nice parts. I liked the Wanda reference; it's interesting how so few know the truth regarding Decimation. I liked Nocturne's surprise about the Beatles. Imagine an Ipod with new Beatles songs no one had ever heard. That was a cool idea on Claremont's part. I also enjoyed Lionheart's return, and I hope Claremont fills us in on what's been up with her. 7/10

Chance of a Lifetime: Very cool. Great story and art.
Hellboy: Makoma #1: Really enjoyed this, but I prefer Mignola's art over Corben's.
Rann/Thanagar War Infinite Crisis Special: Haven't read it yet.
Conan and the Demons of Khitai #4: Ok. Not as good as the regular Conan stuff, but ok.
Gotham Central #40: Haven't read it yet. Waiting until I'm at home and can savor it.

I don't shop for comics regularly enough (or on Wednesdays), so I can't ever add anything to the weekly bought and thought, but I here's my Sunday purchases:
Zatanna #4 (of 4)
Meh. Morrison's never been a favourite of mine, so this was above those lowish expectations. The first issue of this miniseries was very good, and the middle two sort of disjointed. The conclusion is better than the middle, but rather choppy and hard to follow in places. Some nice art and interesting panels as the issue progresses. Barely worth the time and money.
Spider-Woman Origin #2
Good, though I liked the first issue better. I'm not a huge fan of the Luna Brothers; I find their figures to be a bit flat and stiff. But the storytelling was good, and the issue packs a lot of story in without feeling rushed. I hated the last line of the story though -- it was a Stan Lee kind of over-written. Definitely worth buying.
Down #1
This is not Warren Ellis' best work. The motivation for the main character is rather hackneyed at this point, and the violence felt silly and gratuitous (which may well have been the intention). The art could stand to be a tad more consistent. A few really good lines, but very little actually happens. Almost worth the money, I'll buy the second issue before I give up on this one.
X-Factor #2
Not as good as the first issue, but still entertaining. Somewhat confusing to read though, since the colorist messed up and colored one character as another character, and the mutant who lost his powers gets involved in a situation that isn't followed up on, though we see him later in the book. Layla Miller's catchphrase is priceless though. Worth buying, but I hope it's a smoother ride next month.

Captain America 14 WOW what a great issue from the bucky/ cap fight to what happens on the last page .....this is the best captain america has been written in a long long time....and epting's art this issue is the best of the whole run
X-Factor 3 While im not the biggest Peter DAvid fan this new X-factor has definley got my interest......The cast of characters justs seems to have great chemistry and LAYLa Miller has just turned plain creepy.....Im still trying to figure out just who or what she is ...Sook artowrk is great as usuaul and the back up guy Calero also improves this issue.
Uncanny X-men 469 Although claremont has been removed from this title and some of his earlier stories weer just awful the last 3 parter with Rachel was good and this issue is really really good. Claremont does a good job when he lets all the characters interact....and Tan really delivers on the artwork..i know people have complained about his artwork but there is much improvement from his last mk knights spidey run.
Fury Peacemaker Ennis Fury...lots of killing some great darick robertson art pretty cool book.
NEw Excalibur. another claremont book and while not great nevertheless some good dialoge and it seems his writing of pete wisdom i=s getting better and cool appearnce by Lionheart from Avengers

i still think getting powers from aliens is lame epecially when he used to have his own, but damn that whole sequence looked cool. i also really like his new space-sauron outfit. thanks guys, for keeping this one of the most enjoyable, excitment worthy books.

Man, last week was a great week for comics but this week was absolutely fucking fantastic. Almost every comic was kicking ass more than usual and I had three titles that tied for PICK OF THE WEEK! and that's never happened before. I just can't pick which one is better than the other. Cool!
Captain America 14 -- First off, I loved it. However, I wish they had stretched the confrontation between the Winter Soldier and Cap into two issues. Felt like the fight was just beginning and then it was over. Not a big gripe. I just thought the confrontation could have been more epic. Really loved the use of the Cube and that final page was great. 8/10
Fury: Peacemaker 1 -- Good stuff. Looks to me that Ennis is a fan of Sam Fuller's "The Big Red One." Really looking forward to seeing where this story goes. SGT. Rock and SGT. Fury!!!! That's two awesome WWII comics on the stands!!! 8/10
Marvel Team Up 17 -- This was my favorite issue of the arc so far. I would really like to see these guys forming into a team. I'd buy a series based around these characters. However, I am afraid that once they accomplish their missions then they'll forget this whole event. I hope that doesn't happen. 8/10
POWERS 16 -- PICK OF THE WEEK! (#1) -- Yes! I've been waiting for this since the Forever arc. I love the super cops and super robbers angle and I don't want to see that vanish, but I also love seeing this progress into something epic. I'm wondering if Deena and Walker will find themselves as rivals rather than partners. That sure would be interesting. 9/10
Punisher 30 -- This has been a solid arc. Not my favorite of Ennis' run, but if they were ever to make another Punisher movie I think this arc would be a great start for a screenplay. Castle is just so brutal here. A mean, sadistic mother fucker. I like that. The movies need to understand that. He's not a hero. He's not an anti-hero. He's a mean fuck who is out for scumbag blood. Don't get in his way or he'll put his boot in yer throat. 8/10
The Sentry 5 -- Man o man, The Sentry is one of the craziest super heroes out there. The Avengers have a real nut on their hands. I really like the therapist character and his relationship with Cloc is just plain cool. Good to see the Hulk is still there with the dog. 8/10
Supreme Power: Nighthawk 6 -- I enjoyed this series but this was not the best ending. Took about a minute to read the issue. 7/10
X-Factor 3 -- Oooo, Layla Miller just got interesting. 8/10
Hard Time: Season Two 3 -- Cutter is evil. Cindy is screwed...and not in a good way. I think that this serious could turn really nutty any minute and I'm really looking forward to that moment. 8/10
Seven Soldiers: Bulleteer 3 -- Wasn't really digging the whole super hero convention. Seems like Powers did a better job in that arena...oh well. I really like seeing the SS universe beginning to converge. 7/10
The Exterminators 2 -- Man, where is this series going? Not at all what I thought it was going to be when I bought that first issue and I'm so glad. Poor Needledick, I thought we were going to be seeing more of him, but I guess not. 8/10
Y The Last Man 42 -- PICK OF THE WEEK (#2) Yes, an all Ampersand issue. I wasn't really asking for it but I'm so glad I got it. Oh and we now have the origin of the little monkey's name. Cool, cool, cool. I want to own the art for the last page. He's such a happy little monkey. My only complaint would be that I wish this issue had been spaced out a bit from the last issue. Two origin stories so close together...I don't know...feels odd. 9/10
Hellboy: Makoma 1 -- PICK OF THE WEEK (#3) I really didn't think I was going to like this issue as much as I did. I knew that Mignola was going to be doing a little art for the series and I'm just not digging the fact that he's letting these other artists take over. Having said that...Mignola did a hell of a lot more art that I thought he was going to do and when Corban took over the art was frickin' fantastic. Oh and I loved seeing Hellboy as a kid. We need more of Hellkid and Mac. And I like how Africa has this hold over Hellboy. Gives more power to The Third Wish storyline. 9/10

Captain America
X- Factor
and Powers
were all superb and I can't say anything that hasn't already been said about how much yummy goodness there is in those books :D all 9+'s out of 10
Marvel Team-up on the other hand was just alright good. The art is just good enough to make me wish Ryan Ottley was drawing the book, and the story plot for this issue was kind of padded. They jump into the future and sit around on their asses, have a great page of Foom fun, and then wait some more I was hoping their would be some sort of twist to the theft of the time travel device, but no it went exactly like they figured it would at the start of the issue. 7/10

Fantastic 4- Ok, this was easily JMS' best issue since he came on. He really did his Hulk research, and that's really great to see. Nice foreshadowing of the current events in the Hulk's title, too. The Franklin Richards back-up story was a lot of fun, too. 9/10
I have to be honest, I was stunned with the excellent use of Hulk history here. I never figured JMS would do such research for this. For example, when he first used Jarella's flashback I figured, "Well, Jarella isn't well known but ishe's not obscure." But when he included moments like Jim Wilson's death, well, I was pretty happy.
Plus, I liked the set-ups for Civil War.

Powers 15 (apparently i missed this last month) and 16- 15 was awesome for me cause i had an immediate follow-up to a hell of a cliffhanger. I also loved the conversation between walker and deena. 16 was weird and so was the end (retro-girl??). I'm intrigued by it...but also kind of iffy on the possibility that powers may not be a detective fiction book anymore but rather a superhero book with an identity crisis...i hope bendis knows what hes doing! 9/10 for #15, 8/10 for #16
Sentry 5- I had so many questions about the void and the sentry...and this issue opened up so many more...Can someone do me the favor of explaining to me the nature of the sentry and the voids relationship? I'm a little confused:
Uh, if the void was the original...why did he create the sentry and why did the sentry think that he created the void? why did the void createrob reynolds in the first place? and what is the point of sentry?? was the void bored or something and decided he needed a rival? Im so confused!
But i really liked it, and since it satisfyingly changed everything and made my train ride home more exciting I'll give it a 9/10.
Walking Dead Volume 3: I like this book....but i really dont have much to say about it. Sometimes the characters can be annoying and the action predictable and/or repetitive...but its just good! really. 8/10
And now I'm in the middle of my Captain America hardcover of the winter soldier...which Cassady did a GREAT job on. I love his art. And Bru delivers us the corpse of Skull and an unstable Cap...i really love it. great team.
Good week!

Sorry man...I'm just shocked that it didn't get changed like HoM, Murdock Papers and Ronin's ID.
Kind of surprised to hear that things aren't plotted out a little further in advance though.
Powers 16: 8/10
Damn, it's gonna be really interesting to see how this big change will affect the book in the long run. I gotta give props to Oeming for all of the crazy visuals in this issue.
Y The Last Man 42: 8/10
Another good stand alone issue. I like the stand alone issues but I admit that they probably should have been spaced out a little instead of having three in a row. It'll be good to get the focus back on Yorick and the gang next issue.
Angel Old Friends 3: 7/10
The plot hasn't moved forward much but this mini is still pretty fun. It's good to see Lorne again.
Uncanny X-Men 469: 7/10
Claremont continues to do a pretty solid job dealing with the aftermath of Decimation. Tan's art looks a lot better here than it did on MK Spider-Man.
X-Factor 3: 8/10
Good stuff. The ending was quite creepy. I'm intrigued to find out more about Layla.

Uncanny X-Men #469 - Not really won over by the Billy Tan - he's decent enough, but not quite hyped-new-creative-team material yet. Good issue, though I was expecting a more dramatic reaction from Rachel then running away from home after the last arc. 7/10
X-Factor #3 - Okay, now I am starting to like Layla. Singularity is cool too, though there is something off about the book for me so far. Too much happening or something. 6/10
Captain America #14 - Blew me away in every possible way. This is superhero comics. Great action, lots of nice moments, a brilliant ending, and some of the best art I've ever seen... ever. Pick of the Week by a mile 10/10
Fantastic Four #534 - Just when I think I'm done with JMS, he does a nice pies of work like this. Not familiar with all the Hulk continuity being referenced, but I get the idea. Good stuff. Great Ben issue. McKone shines. 8/10
Y #42 - Even the monkey gets an issue? Geez. Lots of little references...I think I need to reread this series to catch up. 7/10
Bulleteer #3 - This is really working now. The best 7 Soldiers mini since the Guardian. Lots of fun with superhero celebrity and typical Morrison heady ideas. 9/10
Powers #16 - Amazing coloring work. A good issue (a good framing rant too), but I am really dubious about where this is all going. 8/10

shojo beat (?) - forgot which month but I'm behind on reading some stories. It's still a great mag and although I like the stories in shonen jump better I like the extras they have in shojo beat. alot more history for the stories invovled.
Last Bendis Daredevil - had to read this when I got home. I didn't really like it that much only because it wasn't a double issue (which I think it should have been). It felt like everything was really condensed. I loved what happened but didn't feel like I was getting a "Bendis" comic.
Dr. Slump - vol.1 - havn't read all of it but I like what I've read. some pretty funny stuff and fans of early dragon ball (not early dragon ball z) would probably enjoy this.
New avengers - 14? - it feels like this one should have been before the last one :) nice fun issue and nice bendis dialogue. Like cho's art alot more so in the last book then this one but mainly because of the more moody stuff he was doing in the last. can't wait to see some more action stuff.
bought more stuff but havn't touched it.

Batman And The Monster Men #4 $2.99 -Really good stuff. I love seeing Batman fight a bunch of guys that are stronger than him and take them down in a creative way.
Green Lantern #8 $2.99 - I don't know why combining these characters works so well. It really shouldn't. A guy with a bow and a guy with the most powerful weapon in the universe. But I love it.
Legion Of Super-Heroes #14 $2.99 - I like the way this book has been real slow with revealing all the members.
Rann Thanagar War Infinite Crisis Special $4.99 - Missed this. Have to go back to the store.
Seven Soldiers Bulleteer #3 $2.99 - Really fun.
Y The Last Man #42 $2.99 - Any book featuring that much monkey can't be bad.
Liberty Meadows Vol 4 Cold Cold Heart HC $24.95 - I love Liberty Meadows. It's the perfect mix of great art, really funny stories, and lots of heart.
Captain America Vol 5 #14 $2.99 - Nice. Wasn't crazy about the ending, but it was fun getting there.
Fantastic Four #534 $2.99 - Feels more like a hulk book, but that's not really bad. I really miss the family feel this book had.
I Heart Marvel My Mutant Heart $2.99 - Doop story was excellent, everything else was a little Meh.
Marvel Team-Up #17 $2.99 - Really fun, love the art. Making me care about Sleepwalker? Never saw that coming.
Powers Vol 2 #16 $2.95 - Cool, so cool. Bendis writes great creepy cosmic dialogue and the art is as good as it's ever been if not better. The weirder it got, the better.
Supreme Power Nighthawk #6 $2.99 - Really didn't like this. Do I need to see someone try to kill a baby? I mean, I get it. He's a bad guy. But come-on! Overly dark and not for me.
Uncanny X-Men #469 $2.50 - I know I read this but dammed if I can remember what happened. Weird.
X-Factor #3 $2.99 - Something about this isn't clicking for me.

then whats the point of bendis giving us all those extras in the back of the trades?
or the pages of comments at the end of each issue of powers?
and don't even get me started on DVDs.
are you saying you never watch your DVD extras?
Rann Thanagar War Infinite Crisis Special - Am I wrong in feeling like the pacing for the Rann/Thanagar War series as a whole was just totally off? It seemed to be a great concept, lots of cool characters but it never had the impact that it should have. Seemed like too many things going on at once squeezed into 6 issues + 1 special. Very disappointed with this as a whole.
And have Hawkman and Hawkgirl's powers expanded so that they can talk and breathe in space?
Also, I guess the writer and artist didn't get together to talk about which character should not be included in that page near the end with the heroes assembled on New Cronus.

I liked the last ish of Nighthawk a lot. The problem with the real Joker is that we are always told how evil he is, but then he rarely ever seems like it on the page. So, yes, we did need to see an attempted baby murder. And I like the ultra-violence, as it's a logical avenue that vigilantism would take. Plus: a possible Squadron Robin?!? To return to how dark and violent it is: it's a Max book. That kind of branding is intended to tell readers EXACTLY who its intended audience is, and what readers should expect from its content. Nobody should be surprised.

Sentinel 4: The best fruit must be on the far vine, because this is REAAAAACHING! Last issue the sentinel couldn't repair itself for shit, this issue it can effect massive restruturing of its frame and command systems? I can't believe I just said all thatOne to go, but I'm not picking up future minis of this.
Red Sonja 5: I'm probably going to drop this. It's not bad, it just isn't holding me all that well.
Buckaroo Banzai preview: I could not pass this up. It came across just like the movie, hardly missed a beat. The dossiers in the back were neat too. Could be cool.
Marvel Team Up 17: If nothing else, this book is worth it to see the brain of Reed Richards burn Gravity. I didn't think he'd ever have it in him.
Y the Last Man 47: It looks like Ampersand is much much more than what he appeared in the beginning, and also that the plague may not have been a surprise to everybody. Some big events centered around a lab moneky - me likey. One thing I noticed, having little to do with this issue, was that Brian Vaughan seems to take very special care with his fill-in artists. In Y, everyone that wasn't Pia made an effort to mimic her style as closely as possible, and in all but one of Vaughan's books there hasn't been a fill-in. Runaways being the exception and that being a pretty big departure from the usual style seen there. I can't think of many writers that've had that kind of control over their fill-in artists, but it makes a HUGE difference. I wish more would take that control.
Powers 16: I didn't think, at the end of the last issue, that Zora or Retro had come back from the dead OR that Walker went to join them, but what did happen was just great! Mike and Peter really did kill with this issue (I'm thinking of shiny Deena-gram person -- WOW!). It's interesting that Walker's been around for millenia, these Space Officers have only been around for three centuries, and yet they never felt like giving him the job until now. I really like that it LOOKS like this huge land-sweeping change to the book, but they told Walker when he took that job that he wouldn't have to do anything 90% of the time, so it could be months or years before this comes into play. And a REAL letter column! They're back! Loved it.
And I'm just a bit ashamed to admit it, but I had to break down and by the Masterpiece edition of Voltron. I couldn't resist. I am a weak weak man sometimes.
Powers 16 3/10
So far Ive found the current arc to be the best story in Powers since the switch to Icon. I've never felt let down by this series, I love that its daring and the cop noir feel and I look forward to it each month(or so). However, I do not honestly know why poeple are raving about this issue. First, the good. Oeming's art was beautiful and the colors really enhance it Now the Bad: The new Walker powers origin is lame...if I wanted to read Green lantern I'd pick up a copy of Wizard's #1 writer Geof Johns new series...and the costume is horrendus, I've seen better Lefield designs(seriosly if you throw some shoulder pads on Walker he becomes Awesomley Extreme WalkerBlood...oh and the aliens are so annoying that i almost couldnt make it through the book, and honestly I wish I hadnt, one of my favorite series feels like its slipping down the drain...this used to be a cool cop noir book that had superheroes in it, now it appears it has become a straight superhero book with the characters just happening to work as a police station...and the worst part is that we appear to be heading to an obligatory Walker vs deena or Walker and Deena teamup, a classic occurences in comics done more times than Paris Hilton on tape. Elsewhere in this thread Oeming said that they werent sure where this arc was heading until they did it...sadly it shows

23 books, 22 picks for me this week...
22) Outsiders#33- Why am I still buying this book? This is like the 3rd time in a row this book has ranked dead last for me. Of course this time, Jena Van Meter rather than Judd Winick is the writer, but the overall this book has really suffered in quality as a result of Infinite Crisis. Of course, this issue was better than past issues because although I didn't really understand what was going on, I did like seeing Arsenal in action. Whether or not I continue reading this book depends on what happens in the upcoming One Year Later book.
21) Aquaman#39-I didn't enjoy this issue as much as the last one. I'm ready to see what's going to happen when Aquaman jumps ahead one year later, and maybe Aquaman will even get his hand back. Oh, we also get to see Black Manta, who actually is a black guy.
20) Fantastic Four#534- Hmm, it wasn't that bad, but it's not really that good either. It's like JMS really wants to take stab at writing the Hulk as well. I'm not sure if this story should go more than 2 parts.
19) New Excalibur#4- Not bad. Basically Claremont is still setting up the book, and in this issue he's trying to figure out a way to get all the characters together on a team. I'm also happy to see he's trying to deal with the loose end of the female Captain Britain aka Lionheart has well.
18. Uncanny X-men#469- More Chris Claremont goodness with new artist Billy Tan. It seems like the Uncanny team is trying to regroup themselves in the wake of M-Day Decimation and the slaughter of the Grey family.
17) X-men:The End- Book Three:Men and X-men#2- Yet another Chris Claremont X-men book, but I think this one was the best of all, because we get to see the child of Charles Xavier and Lilandra.
16) Fury: Peacemaker#1- I loved the first Garth Ennis Fury miniseries, but this one doesn't start out quite as strong. Maybe it's because Fury is younger than he was in the first miniseries and the first mini was a marvel Max while this is just a Marvel Knights. However, I'm still committed to getting the whole series so far.
15) Detective Comics#816- Overall, this was a decent 2 part story about that crazy SOB Mr. Zzaz.
14) Supreme Power: Nighthawk#6- Ok, that Nighthawk is one bad mutha. Unlike a lot of other readers I think the Batman/Nighthawk connection is thin at best, so I really didn't peep that serial clown killer/Joker connection either. However, the ending of this book was off da chain.
13) Green Lantern#8-Overall, I really can't knock this issue of Green Lantern. You have Green Arrow, Mongul's 2 kids and homage to Alan Moore's classic DC story for the "an who has Everything" This was a good 2 part story.
12) Seven Soldiers: Bulleteer#3-Wow, I was really impressed with this issue for several reasons. One, I think this issue works on 2 different levels. For one the characters in the comics are b list super heroes, trying to cope with being b list superheroes and overall the whole Seven Soldiers miniseries is about Grant Morrisson trying to breath new life into these z list characters. Also, I think it's a interesting piece on the state of humankind...on how we strive to be more than the sum of our parts, but can't cope with being everyday average people.
11) Legion of Superheroes#14- I like this issue, even though it served as the epilogue and/or coda to the ongoing story that the Legion has been dealing with for the past 14 issues. I also think that this does a good job of setting up the future of the Legion. I've heard some of the rumors and curious as to how Mark Waid is going to play it. Also, I think having the different artists working on this book was a refreshing change.
10) 30 Days of Night: Dead Space#1- I like the whole 30 days of Night concept and I've read all of the various spinoffs. I like the fact that some characters recur or that their deaths and/or actions affect future characters. Now, having said that, I will admit the franchise was kinda starting to turn it's wheel in the ground, but Steve Niles really took it a new direction with the story of an astronaught who gets turned into a vampire before getting shoot off into space. This was really good.
9) Angel: Old Friends#3- Man, reading this book is like watching the TV show all over again. The writer really has the dialogue down, and the only thing that I knock this book down on is the art, because someone is suppossed to be an old deceased character and in my opinion it looks nothing like him.
8. Rann/ Thanagar War: Infinite Crisis Special#1- This was not as good as the Day of Vengeance Special but I have to admit big things do happen that will tie into Infinite Crisis. Also, the character who died was really a surprise to me, and I know the repercussions will be felt in the pages of Outsiders, and JSA for some time to come. This book is definitely recommended reading.
7) Captain America#14- So the Winter Soldier story has finally come to really good ending. This issue has 2 really good reveals. One is that Bucky Barnes finally remembers who is and the other ties into the 1st issue of this current Captain America series. I had my doubts but Brubaker made it work.
6) Gotham Central #40-Wo, this issue is so powerful. The cover says it all, but still you have to pick it up and read it. Up until the current series ending issues I had only read the 1st 2 issues of Gotham Central but now, I'm hooked. It's like watching a really good movie and wondering what's going to happen with the characters. That's how I feel about Renee Montoya.
5) The Sentry#5- Maybe, it's because I have a psych degree but the Sentry miniseries fascinates me. It's like we're taking the Superman archetype and flipping it on it's ear. Bottom line, the Sentry is earth's greatest hero, Marvel's Superman, who happens to be his own worst evil enemy the Void. In the first miniseries and New Avengers we were led to believe that the Sentry maybe become addicted to his powers and the Void was evil, but now it could be that the Sentry is just plain crazy, and maybe the Void is the original and the Sentry is the construct.
4) X-factor#3- There are alot of good things going on in this book, and I can't wait to see how Peter David is going to put it all together. Oh, and the ending with Layla Miller... I can't wait to see what's up with that chick.
3) Surrogates#4- Without a doubt this is one of the smartest, indie, sci-fi comics that I have ever read in my entire live. if you aren't reading this you need to be. I'm really impressed by how well done the story is and all the extra little pieces that have been added to give the reader a feel for the universe of the comic. Buy this comic, or you will regret it.
2)Local#1/Local#3- I read Brian Wood's first indie black and white series Demo and I have to admit I liked it. However, I felt like I had been mislead somewhat because I thought it was going to have a more superhero/supernatural aspect to it and while it started that way it didn't end that way. Anyway, when I head he was doing 2 more series DMZ for DC's Vertigo and Local for Oni, I didn't want to commit to buying it. However, I ended up picking up issue #2 of Local and I really liked it so I went back and bought issues#1 and #3. Ok, now I'm hooked, but there's a good reason why...Local is the kinda of comic book, the kind of expressive art form, the kind of medium that I would love to express my life in. Simply put, Local is the kind of book that I would to see some one do about life as a black person in America. No, Local is not about black people, but it's the kind ofhe slice of life story that I wish I could see someone do about black people.
1) Powers#16- I am not a Bendis bitch but I have to admit how good this book is. In my opinion, Powers has always been Bendis's best book, and he proves it right here by changing the status quo of one of the 2 lead characters once again. This is the best book that Bendis does because anything goes and anything can happen. It's the most fascinating part of story, the possibility of a thing and Bendis really nails it this issue.

I read Brian Wood's first indie black and white series Demo
Demo is not Brian Wood's first indie black and white series. If you like what you've read, you should probably check out books like Couscous Express, The Couriers, Channel Zero, &c.

There's no doubt in my mind that it's the Vigilante, or his ghost, wearing a domino mask instead of a bandana for some reason.

thats who I thought
BPRD-ARGH!- didn't end well at all. I like it but I've felt a sense of closure with most of the minis if not all so far and this one doesn't close well at all. The fight was really cool and I loved the touching endning but I hated the fact it was a buy the next mini to see what happens.:-?
Batman-I just started to pick this up cause theres going to be a cross over with detective which I noramlly pick up. I have no idea whats going on in this book and I'm just really sick of jason todd and the black mask(who seems to change his personality every time I read a book with him in it. so I didn't really care for this. Nice art work. Nice mix of dialogue action and panel use. Very thick read for the money.
