Wow...didn't see a helicopter in their future at all.
Let the speculations/theories begin.

Good way to confound my expectations. I thought for sure when I first saw the cover and the solit ("Everything changes") that some kind of paramilitary unit was going to show up at the prison. Never expected regulars to be in the riot gear.
Another strong issue, another strong cliffhanger.

I think the helicopter is going to turn out to be in the parking lot and not the sky (which is what Kirkman wanted people to think)

I was JUST about to ask, "is the helicopter in the sky, or on the roof?"

This was actually the first issue of this series that I bought after buying and reading all 4 trades last month. After digesting 24 issues in two weeks, one of the things that pleasantly surprised me about the trades was how seamlessly the stories weaved together. It was often impossible to tell where one issue ended and another began. To me, that's the mark of a well-planned story and great execution in writing.
Needless to say, I'm hooked now. And this was another strong issue; the riot gear holds a great deal of possibilities/problems. Looking forward to where it goes next!

Yeah, this issue is not what I was expecting from the cover.
But it totally rocked.
Glad to see the plot really moving forward again.
Love this book!

I am so very much over trusting the covers of this book. They always fucking lie to me.
God DAMN I love this comic.

Oh, spoilers.
If you didn't guess by the fact the title of the thread is a specific issue.

Awesome. Unfortunatly, #24 was his last cover. :(
Though you should do yourself a favor and pick up The Exterminators.

This is the first single issue of TWD that I've bought. I bought the first three TPBs and then finished catching up by buying the HC Omnibus right after Christmas. I was a little worried about how it would hold up in single issue form, since I've always been able to read a nice big chunk of story at a time, but I have to say I was quite happy with this issue! It was just great and the ending left me aching for next month's reveal!

Great issue, as always. One of the best books out there.

This book was my favorite book I was reading for the first few arcs, especially with Tony Moore. But now I feel like it's lost a lot of it's steam. I'm just not into the prison drama, and long moments of dialogue that sometimes come off as cheesy. I guess I liked it better when there were less characters and they were moving around more often. While the book is still better than a lot of stuff being written, I don't think I can afford to keep it in my pull list, especially with an issue like 25 where not much happens except them finding suits and talking about it for pages. The ending was ok, but not enough to hold my attention, especially when they didn't SHOW THE HELICOPTER! That killed me.

IF the helecopter is in the parking lot then that's a bad bad last page. Because they're both looking up.

Wow! It never even occurred to me that it could be in the sky! I just assumed parking lot = parked helicopter. I really am clueless sometimes....

I believe I know what's going to happen in the opening of the next issue...and, if I'm correct- then there's a reason Kirkman didn't show the helicopter...
And that reason is: REALLY FUCKING BIG OPENING in the next ish...
And yeah, the chopper is in the air, it's not parked.

I was thinking more like a helipad on the roof.
Perhaps it is crashed into something and they need to repair it.
either way, I can't wait to find out.

Roof access to a helicopter would make the most sense, altough if it was high up, one wonders why they never saw it before.

It never occoured to me that the hellicopter wasn't in the air. There are so many different things he could do wit this cilffhanger. I can't wait for the next one.

It's on the other side of the building?

It's on the other side of the building?
Possibly, but they've made numerous mentions to scoping every inch of the prison by this point, so you have to think they've been to the other side of the building by now.
Still, small thing to nitpick, and I'm sure it will be explained well be Kirkman and Adlard.

When they first came to the prison, didn't they see it from on top of a hill, too?

They did and there was no helicopter pad that could be seen on that page of the book. Has to be in the air.

The best thing for the series would be to add more people and then have your classic "man's worst enemy is itself" deal.
I picked this up and i realized that I missed issue 24. I went back to my LCS and they didn't have it. So i said fuck it and read it anyways. It was a great issue as always, but I'm pretty sure I missed a lot in issue 24.
