Free Xbox 360 Faceplates with Games

It looks like game themed face plates are going to be used as a marketing tactic to get people to buy more games, but if everyone does it…will it have any effect any longer? Full Auto and Call of Duty 2 have already jumped ahead of the pack by offering free faceplates with their games.

For Call of Duty 2, Best Buy has a deal where over the next week, if you buy the game, you get the face plate for the game, which they are saying is a $19.99 value for free.

For Full Auto, if you pre-order the game with Electronics Boutique, you get Full Auto’s face plate with the game, for free.

The CoD one is really nice, but the Full Auto looks like crap and seems designed for a vertical box.

I like the promotion, actually. It's better than a lot of other giveaways with pre-orders and such and I probably wouldn't go out and buy a faceplate by itself.
