View Full Version : Having a Hard Time Resetting My Ipod

It's not frozen or anything, but it has some old podcasts on it that for some reason didn't delete or go away when I switched hard drives. I thought resetting the Ipod and plugging it back in would help this, but for some reason it won't reset. I toggle the hold button and push the menu and play/pause button at the same time, for ten seconds, but for some reason it either turns off, the light comes on, or nothing happens at all. Anyone know another way around this or something else I can do?

Can't you just yank them off through iTunes?

Nope. It only shows up on my Ipod, and when I try to manually delete them from Itunes, it won't let me. It's the strangest thing.

Can you choose Restore on your Ipod softward and erase everything on the Ipod's hard drive?

I don't believe so. I go to my options after right clicking it, but there's nothing about restoring it or resetting it.

The problem I was having is that I was pressing them both dowen too hard.I could never get it to work.

JUST press them down.I wish I could explain it better but that's what worked for me

If you have Ipod Updater there should be a Restore function. Along with an Update function to load the newest software to the Ipod.

Or you could try going into your Music files and deleting the podcasts that way.

Thank you! I completely forgot about the restore function on the updater. I really appreciate it.

Jabsen, I tried just pressing it, but it still wouldn't work. I have these large, manly hands, so I guess I couldn't "just press it".
