So...can anyone tell me, if these collected DVDs are of the entire 90s Batman run (starting on FOX and going through to WB?).

Are the a "best of" compilation or is this really the complete/definetive set?

I know these have been out for a while now, but I've slept on buying them for long enough...I just need to know what collection they really are.

Will do. How many sets/volumes are currently available? Is this the best 'deal' for the volumes?:

Four volumes. 1-3 collect Batman: The Animated Series and volume 4 collects the last season in the new style that aired as part of WB's "Batman/Superman Adventures". That looks like it collects the first 3 volumes, and I think it's a decent deal.

The complete series is out; as is the first 2/3rds of the Superman animated series which I point out since the second volume contains the World's Finest 3-parter.

Batman Beyond: Season One and Justice League Season One will be released later this year.

Batman's out in its entirety, I imagine the final volume of Superman will be released closer to the release of Superman Returns, Batman Beyond and Justice League both get their first volumes in March, and if you're one of those that actually likes Teen Titans (only occasionally for me), the first season of that is out in February...

Just found series 1-3 on sale for $23 each (plus tax) at Tower Records. Apparently available both online (http://www.towerrecords.com/Video/Default.aspx?search_in=dvd&oft=Batman%3AAnimated%20Series%20&free_text=Batman%3AAnimated%20Series%20&.) and in-store.

From the same board: "use code JANTEN to get 10% orders over $25 . Coupon good until 1/31."

Not exactly, the sets do amount to the complete series, however; B:TAS's episode count per season was widely variable. So Warner Home Video divided the series into 4 chunks of 24 to 30 episodes.

The first three volumes contain these episodes:
http://www.tv.com/batman-the-animated-series/show/363/episode_listings.html&season=0

The fourth volume contains these episodes:
http://www.tv.com/batman-gotham-knights/show/5420/episode_listings.html

As for looking for the best deal on the series, this is great site for dvd pricing:
www.dvdpricesearch.com

Also, most of the Superman & Batman interaction in Timm's DC animated universe takes place on S:TAS so check out those sets for such episodes. Two have been released, the third and final release will be timed with the release of Superman Returns.

Thank you so damn much!!! Where do you find these great deals (steals)?

I took advantage of this and everything worked out prefect, sets were 48% off, coupon deducted $6.90 (10%) and shipping was free!

Thanks again, cant wait to get these.

Thanks for this info too... I'll definetely check out the Supes series as well, but it always takes me so long to get through DVD sets that it may take a while...

But if another 'Tower' sale comes along, I may just have to snatch them up!

Well, I finally got these in the mail, havent watched them yet...but cant wait!

Anyone know why these epiosdes are 'out of order' when you compare them against the episode guide (listed in the Batman:Animated book)?

Looks like I'm gonna have to pick up Volume 4 and the Superman books soon after I watch these too!

Thanks again for that great Tower Records website deal!

I forget whether they are in production order or broadcast order, but this problem creeps up a lot with cartoons on DVD. Often it takes months to produce one episode and networks will just let them stockpile and show whichever episodes they think are the best first, so determining the correct order for the DVD is often very difficult
