Seriously, who can actually believe this is really going to happen on this week's Smackdown!?
This is not a match I would ever have put money on actually seeing...

I watched a shoot interview with Marty recently.
He looks leatherier than my armchair.

i remember one of marty's final matches in wcw where he fought conan on saturday night. it was actually rather funny. he was just going through the motions of the match, his facial expression never changed.

Marty Jannety will die for your sins. Angle will break his ankle and give Shawn some extra initiative to beat him. Angle, meanwhile, will try to cripple the second Rocker at WM. That WM match is gonna be a submission fest.

I'm actually gonna go out on a limb and predict that Angle/Jannetty will actually be a pretty good match.

Marty Jannetty is insane. He lives in Tallahassee where he has a local promotion called CCW, capital city wrestling. Well anyway, he has lost his fucking mind since leaving WWF, trust me i've talked to him, his train of thought doesnt quite leave the station it seems. I think he has honestly gone insane since leaving WWF, hes on like every drug in the book, and he is just so scatter brained and nuts. Every time ive seen him he is coked up to the gills or something, and practically bouncing off the walls. Last time I saw him he was flagging down some people on the corner of a large intersection of town, with his shirt off looking like a madman. Before that he was fucked up beyond belief at one of the after parties of a CCW show. Anyway, I hope the 5,000 or whatever Mcmahon is paying him lasts him more than a week, cause he needs it to.

Shawn Michaels got him help via religous convertion. Apparently Jannetty's now in great shape. Anyone caught the Rockers reunion yesterday?

I just want to know what else Angle is going to do to surpass Michaels's accomplishments. Perhaps the greatest of HBK's career was carrying Kevin Nash's useless ass to a Match of the Year winner, but he's in TNA now so that's out of the question. Maybe they'll bring in Teddy Hart or Jim Neidhart or one of those guys for an appearance, so Angle can claim he beat up a member of the Hart family, too.

THAT WAS FREAKIN SWEET!!! :D
those two came out to Rockers music and i was like 7 yrs old again and giggling like a lil girl w/ a crush!
Jannetty has NEVER looked better in his life if you ask me, and they haven't lost a step!!!
it was SO AWESOME!!
words beyond the whole "wow it's actually happening!" cannot describe my pleasure that that match was so good and was actually happening!
:D :D :o

Pretty much my reaction, except for the "giggling like a lil girl" part. I started watching wrestling around WM 5, so the Rockers were a big part of my formulative years as a fan. I hope the WWE keeps Marty around for a while.

One of the best matches I've seen all year though I still think booking Janetty to look that good was counter-productive to the build-up for Angle vs. HBK, since it makes Angle look weak.

I don't think so. It was Angle wrestling a legend, which is what I think they're gonna book Marty as (which I am fine with). Now, if Angle lost, then yeah, dumb as shit. But he beat Marty, who has beaten Shawn.

I disagree. I think it made Angle look tougher. I said, "Here he is, fighting a guy with nothing to lose, who's fighting with everything he has, and he beats him."

No, it was Angle having a hard time beating a guy who hasn't done anything worthwhile in over 10 years. Remember, the last two times Janetty was in the big leagues, it was as part of the New Rockers (ugh) in the WWE, and as a "Jobber to the Stars" on Nitro.

Janetty is not a legend, and that's not how the WWE is going to book him. He'll be wrestling Simon Dean on Sunday Night Heat within a month.

If that's the case, then they'll probably just think of him as "the guy who used to team with Shawn Michaels but hasn't been on TV in over 10 years, so why the hell is Angle having such a hard time beating him?"
