How much should a rookie comic artist charge for illustrating a comic book page?

How about a cover?

Thanks!

your question is too vague. I think we need more and sample of your work and who you're charging and how much they can afford? or something, ya know?

Yeah, it would depend on how much of a rookie you really are.

IF the publisher you're working with is paying:

Have you ever done a full book? If not, you could probably expect between $10-15 per page.

Covers probably @ $50 and that's generous. Again, I'd have to see your style.

Rookies don't have much of a leg to stand on. You take what they give you and chalk it up to experience. That's the way the industry works.

All depends on the skill level. I know plenty of rookie artists that could put 90 percent of the pros to shame if they had a chance-- and the drive to do so.

The price you charge needs to be related to the amount of work you're doing, the skill level you're at, and experience you have.

Some indie artists make as low as 10$ a page, and 75$ a cover.

Scott McDaniel's website has a nice section about page rates. He's going off big company dollars, but his formula for figuring costs, etc. can be used for any page rate basically.

I'm going to have to see some samples, other than that its based of the hours you spend on a page and ur skill level.
