the best part about it was that the cover image actually happens in the comic!

this is what episode III should have had in it.

what is now episode III should have been II and what is now I and II should have been mashed into one movie somehow. no podrace and no little annie. he should have been a bit older.

this was what i was hoping for when the prequels were anounced.

Vader killing Jedi. what more can a SW geek ask for?

what was so special that it was vader and not anikan killing jedi? I think anikan killing them was better because we see that it didnt take the injury to turn him.

but vader killin jedi would have been cool.

Ep 1 should have been ep2 the clone wars
ep 3 should have been called ep2 including clone wars cartoon up till he accepts to be a sith
ep3 should have been the killing of the jedi, obi fight, killing of more jedi across the universe

that would have been cool too. i agree that it was cool that he turned into vader before the fight w/ obi wan. having anakin do the killing was much more effective. especialy the padawans.

i guess i just wanted to see more of what i saw in this comic.

i really loved the line from the comic that the jedi strayed from the path when they became generals.

I disagree. Then it's just sensless action. There's no story, and you never get weight of his turn to the darkside. And anyways, if they did that, people would be bitching they didn't see Anakin as a youngster. Star Wars is the story of the Rise, Fall, and Redemption of Anakin Skywalker. Though the dialouge was cheesy at times, and there were some "kiddie" moments, I don't think the prequels deserve quite the bad rep they get. Remember, they're made to be (wiht the exception of ROTS) PG films. I think there's a happy medium between what the films are, and what you proposed.

Plus, if Episode III was nothing but 2 hours of Jedi's dying, it'd be way too nihilistic. It's already dark enough with the fall of everything, corruption, etc.

I thought it was kinda "meh" myself. You knew the Jedi were gonna die, so unless we actually got to know and/or care about them first, it was just several more Jedi corpses.

I actually think they have a lot more going on in them then the original story, when you watch them altogether, it really plays out like a tragedy. The killer is that at one point, Ron Howard and Steven Spielberg were both rumoured to be directing a prequel each, with Lucas doing (probably) the third.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how they do that without Vader or the Emperor, but still satisfy fans. I'm sure they (or Obi-Wan or Yoda) will probably be like a special suprise guest for sweeps/season/series finale.

Let's clarify, did they mean none of the principal cast members or characters..

If cast members, then anyone can wear the black costume and get Hamill to do Vader's voice and be the Emperor.

And yeah, Boba Fett's almost a sure guarantee for sweeps.

i thought it was the characters they were talking about.

rumor has it that captain antilles is a major character.

That was my understanding as well. And since most of the Jedi we'd seen before were killed in the movie, we're looking at, by and large, new characters.

since the comics are setting the precedent that palpatine doesnt want vader out there doing the actual killing it leaves it open for them to hire people to hunt down the remaining jedi.
