Hardcore was great, but something about Golden Age...I just liked it.

Wow, I thought Decalogue was at the top. I loved it and thought it did a great job of showing how things affect the regular folks.

The art was somewhat different than usual Maleev, and the retro storytelling was cool. It wasn't all that decompressed either. It was unique.

NastyBallz nasty?

I got the bulk of the issues for Christmas (catch up).
It was pretty good! I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, because I was pretty eager to just get through it to arrive at the Murdock Papers.

Decalogue might've been the better of the two, in the end. Not sure.

The art was somewhat different than usual Maleev, and the retro storytelling was cool. It wasn't all that decompressed either. It was unique. The best scenes to me were Matt training Agent T in using her new powers. The scenes of Matt being tortured by Gladiator and the original kingpin got old really fast. Bont just didnt have the flare to make his quest for revenge memorable. I would love to have seen Matt spend atleast 2 issues preparing Toro for what a life as a vigilante entails. Her fear of her own power and how exciting and crazy this life is. That was the shining point of the arc.

Dude, Alien thing? Read it again. What it was was probably one of the coolest parts. I loved the arc but can easily put it on the back burner of the Matt Murdock: Outed Saga. My favorite issues were the the was that brought in Bullet and "The Bomber". I really could've done with more stories that took Daredevil's past and incorporated it into the present. Still, great arc.

Same here, only moreso. I've said it on this board, I've said it in my reviews, I've said it to their faces, and I'll say it again here: Decalogue is the best work of Bendis and Maleev's careers.

I didn't like Decalogue. I thought it would be a mafia story, telling how Murdock was dealing with crime as he was the "Kingpin".

But the story about
Spoilers
ancient ninjas summoning baby alien symbiotes and all
was kind of lame from my point of view.

Does anyone know the meaning of the title Decalogue? I mean in terms of this story. If there was ten of anything it wasn't apparent to me, so I am a little myphed about it.

The Decalogue is the Ten Commandments.

Decalogue is an arc about the 10 commandments. If you were disappointed, it is probably because you should have looked at the Dictionary and see that Decalogue isn't exactly what they called the Mafia Boss.. It's more like"Capo di tutti capi".

I loved Decalogue. But it should have been ten issues.

99.99999% of the time, Bendis drags the shit out forever. The ONE time I am looking forward to ten parts, he fucks me.

Loved Decalogue. Loved every arc of DD that Bendis wrote. Only one that I thought suffered was the Trial of the Century but only because of the inconsistent art. Really happy to see that Bendis mentioned this in one of his interviews.

That fucking little critter in that thing made me feel dirty. Which is the mark of a great artist.

Good, slowburn suspence story, although I wish it'd ended with more of a bang than it did.

I wouldn't say that. I felt it had a lot of intensity, but it was subtle intencity, not, "HO SHIT! THE BUILDING'S COMING DOWN!" intensity. It just faltered towards then end, when the building really should have been coming down, or at least something similar.

I honestly don't think you could have told this story any better or worse in 48 pages.I really think you could have smaller testimonies of the people in the group and we could get the same point. It felt like a little filler arc to get to the Murdock Papers.

Some interesting posts here.

I read Decalogue for the first time today, finally capping off my Bendis/Maleev run in singles.

As a whole, this is one of the greatest runs on any character in the MU.Underboss,Out,Lowlife,Hardcore,KOHK,Golden Age,and Murdock Papers were all great in my eyes.

The first 4 arcs really had alot going on,very high octane shit.I think the second half was more about the effects of all the stuff that went down before and during the time when Matt declared himself Kingpin.

Decalogue was a great story IMO.I always laugh at fanboys who complain about issues where the main character isn't present. It's such a lame complaint.I loved the whole idea behind it,this help group makes so much sense, all this crazy going on in HK,people would be scared shitless and want to talk about it.The individual stories were really well done on their own,I loved the son fucking his dad over, classic.

Sure the demon baby could have been a bit wonky, but you have to keep in mind, this is the MU,where giant men in purple show up to eat the planet, etc. So the whole forgotten religion angle seemed really plausible to me.

And Maleev's art is given shitloads of breathing time here,I loved the silent pages where the art just spoke for itself, the man is an artist in every sense of the word.Stewart's colors are amazing as usual.
