Lap Top Recommendations

I'm gonna buy a lap top off of ebay for soon. My brother in law recommends Compaq Evo and IBM Think Pads. You guys got any input.

I didn't want to spend too much more the 500.00.

My HP Pavillion zv5000 has been really good to me. I'm sure you could buy one used for about $500 by now.

I like and have been using Toshiba laptops. I really like the feel of the keyboards on the Toshiba ones more than the Dells.
