Narnia stunk, and yet it's beating a giant ape

Just for one day, though. And Narnia does have a much more loyal following.

Narnia is also a childrens movie, and pulls in alot of the families that like Harry Potter. Kong doesn't tap into that market.

I went to see Kong last night and I think my wife and I were the only people without kids

Why did Narnia stink? I wonder how many people were biased for or against it because of CS Lewis' Christian undertones? Either way I'll be seeing it for myself the day after Christmas.

I felt it came across as very "blah"

and the christian themes didn't bother me at all, I just felt underwhelmed

Yes, kids will go. But Kong isn't targeted directly at them like Narnia is.

And like I said, Narnia can feed directly off of the Harry Potter mania.

I'm glad to hear that Narnia is doing well. I know my girlfriend and I are the only grown ups that liked it, but I still want the other ones made 8)

I saw Narnia today, expecting it to suck. I was pleasantly suprised. A good movie, in my opinion. King Kong was miles ahead of it though!

You do know that C S Lewis was a servant of Satan, right? (http://www.balaams-ass.com/journal/homemake/cslewis.htm)

I liked Narnia okay. I think it was too short because it seemed choppy- lots of cuts.
But it was better than I thought it'd be.

I felt it came across as very "blah"

I'm really waiting for one person to actually give a *reason* why they didn't like this movie.

I thought it was great.

And it's beating Kong because it's not 3 hours of padding with great effects.

Three hour movies do better with something like this:

or this:

But not this:

That sure ain't bringing in the ladies...

*sigh* You guys are never gonna stop with this crap, aren't you?

Whoooo, look! This movie I didn't like didn't make a ridicoulus amount of money! I was obviously right all along! I'm a genius and every single person in the world agress with me! :jackoff:

Seriously, go find some other way to give your ego a blow job.

Wow, that Jack Black picture and that jerk-off smiley look amazingly similar...

I haven't seen the movie yet, so I can't judge it on those merits. I just totally understand why a family-hostile, strictly "guy" movie isn't doing mega box office.

Plus, I like stroking my own ego... I haven't been this happy since Serenity almost bankrupted a studio and nearly destroyed Joss Whedon's career. :boogie:
