have the monitor face away from traffic

I meant in terms of occupation, but that's a good tip, even though it doesn't work for me. There is a door with a window that leads to a major hallway right behind me, so people are always looking at what's on my screen.

In the pop and film versions of organized crime, it is the number one advisior to the Boss or Godfather. The Consiliere is his right hand man.

Consiliere is a pretty Italian soup, very substantial with traditional meatballs. The torn escarole floats on the broth, enriched by the meat and molten cheese. Flavorful yet subtle. Served hot to 6 people.

It was also played by Robert Duvall in the first two Godfather movies.

Consigliere or counselor to a a Mafia boss. He is technically second in command. In a Crime Family, he is expected to speak his mind even if it contradicts what the boss believes. If the boss is incapacitated, he is expected to lead until a new boss is appointed. The hierarch of a Family is as follows:
Boss
Consigliere
Underboss
Capos
Soldiers

Underbosses sometimes have as much power and even more than a Consigliere. On the Sopranos, Tony is technically the Underboss. Junior is a boss only in name. Silvio is the Consigliere. They normally keep their hands clean and deal with the public more directly, although Silvio did a hit late in the season.

In the Godfather, James Caan was the underboss and was poised to take his father's position as boss until he got whacked at the toll both. Robert Duvall was the Consigliere.

Sometimes I wonder what in the hell I used to do before I started posting here, than I remember it involved a lot of drinking....

A definite step up I'd say. :)

So true.

The only negative is I think I still spend as much as I do when I was drinking, just because of all the awesome book/movie recommendations from people on the board here. I should've been keeping track of how much money Adam Witt has cost me....
