View Full Version : Dave Sim, 1st work after Cerebus?
From the Image Solicits for March 2006:
GUN FU: SHOWGIRLS ARE FOREVER #1 - SPOT

written by DAVE SIM & HOWARD M. SHUM

The year is 1941. France has succeeded in setting the world record for the quickest surrender to Nazi Germany without putting up a fight. Nazi-collaborating French showgirls are on a secret mission to attack a neutral United States. Cheng Bo Sen is a Hong Kong cop and British secret agent. He also speaks hip-hop, which no one seems to notice.

I'm surprised that this isn't bigger news. Is this Sim's first work after Cerebus ended?

Gun Fu is like the ultimate guilty pleasure. It's so stupid, yet so funny.

I've gotta remember to pick up the first trade. It's been on my TO GET list for a while now.

Strangely enough, I got the biggest thrill out of the fact that Dave Sim lettered my name... he's a master letterer.

Agreed. That's cool as fuck.
Has Sim done much work outside of Cerebus?
I only remember the issue of Spawn that he wrote, and now this. Is there anything else that he's done that doesn't involve everyone's favorite aardvark?

I like the way you think.
Maybe have some bumperstickers printed out, too.

The sad thing is that Sim will never get the recognition he deserves for his art or his lettering because of his politics. One of the most rewarding parts of reading Cerebus for years was to watch his art evolve.
