Started my first day of teaching today, a strange time to start, with there being only one week left of school until the new year, but it's the school's call.
No more retail, no more office management, just kids learning...
On a strange note, I saw tons of kids wearing Spiderman, Batman, The FF, and The Hulk, but I'd bet almost none of them even know there's such a thing as comics.

Hey, good luck with that Alex. Maybe you have some comics you can give the kids to help with reading or some super hero posters to spruce up the room to help them open up to learning.

Definitely. I actually plant to give some all-ages comics to the higher grade teachers, these kids are just barely spelling.

Comics do wonders for literacy. That's real. Those of use who have been reading since we were kids can attest to that. A few FF comics later and your reading comprehension and vocabulary goes up like 30 points. "F-f-fram-I-stat. Framistat."

Dude, congrats on the teaching gig.

I was thinking about trying to be a sub teacher when I get back to New Orleans. But I'm in my last semester of college so they might not want me. But it's NOLA so they might actually need people.
