Hey Dave, just wanted to say thanks again for coming down to the con even though it sucked as far as cons go. I enjoyed getting to hang out w/ you for a while (and the Wolverine sketch is nice too, of course).
Just think, if you hadn't been there, you'd have never gotten to see that weird chick in the dragon/chicken costume dancing around. And honestly, didn't that make it all worth it. ;)

Actually, Dave is a bad-ass and wasn't going to charge a dime. One of the other guys there (there were only like 3 or 4 of us) had the idea that instead of paying Dave, to just contribute something to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, so that's what we did.
Not to steal Jeff Amason's thunder, but here is a sketch of Spider-woman that Dave did for him.

You can also view the rest of Jeff's art here. (http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=6900)
I'm an idiot so I didn't think to get a couple of pics of the two Moon Knight sketches I saw Dave do. Suffice it to say, they were very nice.
Cameron Stewart was also there and did an incredible Catwoman for me that you can see at my comicartfans gallery at the link below.

I was at Cage-Con also, and while it sucked, seeing Dave there made it worth the trip. Dave, hope you enjoyed your stay in Texas!

Absolutely! It was a pleasure, thanks guys. It was just too bad that the show was so poorly attended!

Next time you feel like making a trip to Texas, maybe you can set up at a more established con. :) Hopefully you'll be able to make another trip soon and maybe by then we can talk about the new car I'm planning to get. You know, one that doesn't melt in the summer.
Oh, and given the day, Merry Christmas everyone!

Yes, I really hope you don't think the turn out was a reflection of your popularity in Texas. The con was poorly advertised and was unestablished. I recommend you try WWTX (http://wizarduniverse.com/conventions/texas.cfm), or The Dallas Coimc Con (http://www.scifiexpo.com/dcc/home.html)(comming up next month, but occurs 2-3 times a year) or CAPE (http://zeuscomics.com/cape/) (on free comic book day) which is really fun, features cool artists and writers and had a great turn out last year!
While I certainly appreciated meeting you without a long line at both Comic Asylum in Garland for the ACTOR benefit and at CAGE Con, these are very small events and really don't get a lot of attention unless you happen to go to those stores on a semi-regular basis.
BTW, I love the Spider-Woman head sketch you did for me at the ACTOR benefit and the Thor sketch you did for me at Cage Con. If you don't remember I was the guy with the wife and baby.

Dave,
Don't let that Con turn you off of Con's in the Big Apple!
Big Apple Con's are usually alot of fun. I got to meet you at the NYC mess and watch some guy harass you for a sketch, I wanted to drag him away and stuff him in a trash can. You were very apoligetic and polite but this guy was just standing there as you told him repeatedly "sorry, no." and then relented and whipped out a Cap headshot for him.
He was a dick. I can't stand people like that at shows.
Anyway, come back to NYC, hang out after the show and have a couple.
Your art kicks ass and next time I stalk you until I get the Moon Knight sketch!:scared:
I'm kidding....about the stalking part...
