Seeing this cell phone commercial with the moron and his Dukes of Hazard ring tone reminds me of how much I've always dispised that show...

The only time I ever watched it as a kid was when I had company over who like it or when I was visiting someone who watched it... I wasnt into cars or Daisy Duke, so there really wasnt any reason for me to watch it... not to mention I generally dont like "country" things...

Anyway, seeing the commercial today made me think a little about the show... did these punks ever get arrested? They're bound to have a rap sheet longer than Shug Knight... and it's not like they're hard to find. They dont drive around in an unmarked Ford truck or something. They drive around in an orange symbol of racism with a stupid horn. Plus, they're always jumping shit and screaming... Jesus, just wait at the local repair shop or parts store... they're bound to show up at least once ever other episode... and what kind of message does the show give? Continue to break the law and then run from them... Didnt Uncle Jesse make moonshine? Why were these kids (who were, what, like 30) doing living with their uncle anyway? What happened to their parents? Who's kid was Daisy?

Why do I care?

worst show ever!!!!!

You clearly never watched I Marrie Dora...

It didnt even last a season... it was about a guy that married his Spanish (I think) maid (or cook or something) so she wouldnt be deported... the final episode of the show saw the lead actor walk into the house and announce "we just got canceled" at the end of the episode.

Oh, there's also Dharma and Greg...

my family in croatia makes wine, whiskey, vodka, you name it, in their back yard. thing is: you don't mess with mountain folk, no matter what continent they're on. just leave them be, and go on your way. hence why no one messed with the duke boys.

I watched the show as a kid but it's one of the rare beloved properties of my childhood that I didn't get at all nostalgic for when they resurrected it. Some things you really should outgrow.

Well clearly my feelings on the issue are known. I bare the name sake of the villian for god sake. The show is mindless fun and I assure you there are far worst concepts of television shows from this or any era.... Charles in charge.. Nuff said. It's unfortunate yoru not a fan of the show we would have liked to see you dressed as cooter at the convention.

It is actually legal to make moonshine, so long as you don't sell it.

Or make it in conspicuously large quantities.

I was all about the car watching this show as a kid.

Even though I watched it all the time, I can't tell you a single plot of an episode. It was just very forgettable. Just mindless fun. Having a hot rod and jumping stuff is just gravy when you're a kid.

My stepbrother loved that show. I didn't care for it and I controlled the television because I was bigger but I let him watch it most of the time.
