I'm sitting here in front of the tv watching Alex Cox's pseudo-spaghetti western comedy and it just leaves me scratching my head. I really really want to like this movie. Pregnant Courtney Love. Gunslingin' Joe Strummer. Dennis Hopper. Jim Jarmusch as Mr. Dade. But I just don't get this flick.

And now I'm thinking about the other Alex Cox movies I've seen. Repo Man and Walker. Two more flicks that seem to run all over the map. Anyone out there a fan of this guys movies? Could you explain the attraction?

Yer watchin' Straight To Hell - it sucks. "Straight To Video" is more like it.

'Bout the only thing Cox ever did that was worth a pint of piss was Sid & Nancy. Beautifully tragic film.

Repo Man's almost decent, but Cox's immaturity as a filmmaker botched what could have been one of Estevez's best roles.

Emilio was the bomb in That Was Then This Is Now, yo! ;)
