And where will you be when I conquer Ireland and MAKE YOU STAY THERE FOREVER?
Dude, conquering Ireland is like convincing a Lemming to run off a cliff, it's not like it's a difficult thing to do

Anyone with access to a keg could conquer this shithole

And you can try keep me here all you like, not going to happen mate

New rules for comic cons

the following activities will get you shot
1. Asking for a commision of Wolverine
2. Asking for a commission of anyone naked
3. wearing a costume from star wars if you are more than fifty percent overweight, unless it's Jabba the Pizza Hut
4. Bumping little kids out of the way of comic boxes

5. Stand up straight when going through comics. You look like a fucking moron, digging your nose into the boxes like that

6. The ladies are not there because they like you. They are getting paid oodles to put up with you. Act like an adult
7. Marvel doesn't really care. DC doesn't really care. NO ONE CARES about your amatuerish "idea" about giving the Hulk lasers and pitting him against an iron man with a particle cannon

Sorry if I trigger a nerve here, but, uh, why don't you get a job?

Howlett
02-27-2006, 07:07 PM
Not triggering a nerve, it's a valid question. You weren't here for my rants about this.

I've been looking for a job for quite a while now. I've actually handed around so many CVs and applications that I gave up on going around anymore to places, since I'd just be blanketing the same places all over again (not sure about where you are, but employers HATE it when people do that here) so I phone for jobs now, hence why I'm around here as much as I am. I don't have to leave the house for the most part. Just when I go training, and for interviews when I get them.

The problem here is we've had SOOOOO many refugee's come into the country over the last couple of years that most employers won't hire Irish staff (which is hilarious, because the same employers will bitch about not having Irish staff too) since they can pay the refugee's next to nothing. Thats actually one of the reasons I've seriously considered emigrating to the statres, but these days thats next to impossible.

jason hissong
02-27-2006, 07:11 PM
Fair enough.

Sometimes I forget that different countries have different problems than mine.

But I hope something emerges for you soon.

I'm so pissed we don't have any milk in my house! I was going to get some, but then we don't have any, which means I can't have cereal tomorrow either.

I could go to the gas station up the street, but I'm too tired and have no cash on me.

Why not? A place like the QT? Man, the QT is like a mini grocery store that pumps gas.

Just check the dates, like I would in a normal store.

Oh yeah those are good, the gas stations around me are pretty terrible when it comes to cold drinks.

So, anyone got good tips on how to transition to working the graveyard shift?

I'd exhaust myself a few days before hand and make sure I sleep during the day for a couple of days and that should do it fine enough. I've worked nights for nearly 10 years though, so I find it easy.

Well, starting tomorrow I'm working at the casino. Three days of orientation.

Starting midnight Saturday, I'll be dealing some blackjack and various other table games.

Thats awesome! Its probably going to take a week or two of adjusting, but I suggest working out more just to make it so that it'll be easier to go to sleep when you have to. The first night's probably gonna be a killer though.

This is close to my plan. I'd just force myself to stay awake all night and then go to sleep during the day like you will on your shift and wake up when you would normally. After a couple of days, you're golden! I recently did the opposite of this to switch from nights back to days.

Yes. Unfortunately I also have a part time job that I need to schedule in as well. Although I'm a bit sick of it at this point, so we'll see.
