It is amazing stuff. It may seem like bootlicking here, with Bru being a member, but I have not seen one bad review of it ANYWHERE. The words 'flawless transition' come to mind. What really made me enjoy the book was Bru's unusually humorous writing. Typically, it's emotional, but I like to laugh when I read comics...and preferably not at the quality.

That aside, just a great book in general. You should enjoy it. How far are you into Bendis' run?

So I've heard. I've actually spoken to some people who've claimed that in a sense, Bru is better than Bendis because while Bendis came on and MADE DD great, Bru continued it and did it flawlessly.

As Bendis himself said, it's easy to come onto a failing book and make it great but it's harded to come onto a great book and keep it great.

I've read up to King of Hell's Kitchen but I have up to Decalogue. I'm going to get to reading them at some point today or tomorrow.

Have you ever been so tired you start to have mild hallucinations?

It's becoming routine for me this week while i'm working.

freaky yet scary.

I haven't but that doesn't sound good. :(

Hopefully you can get some sleep today in between your typing...

One time, I was sick with a very bad cold, and between that, a big lack of sleep, and some strong coffee, I hallucinated a pulsating, electric snake hovering in midair...

I was so sick one time with fever that I went on a shopping spree on QVC and didn't remember it until all the packages arrived. Also my best friend came over every day to take care of me, change my sheets, help me bathe etc and I didn't know it for two or three days. He said I said had some interesting conversations when I thought he was other people. I never want to be that sick again. It was horrible.

This week I've been pushing myself so hard when it gets late I start typing stuff that I'm not hearing in the dicatation. Stuff that's not related. Instead of medical stuff I have typed cell phone notes, I typed like was having an IM conversation with gav, and I was apparently telling someone that Pirates of the Carribbean 2 is coming out on July 7th.

So far I've caught it all but it's freaking me out a bit.

That was the plan.

She called me to ask me if I wanted some extra typing for this weekend. My brain was saying no, but "yes" came out of my mouth. I have 4 long days to type by Sunday.

You don't sound like an ass.

I don't sleep much anyway but I've increased my work load over the past couple of weeks so instead of not sleeping and watching movies or posting on here, I'm not sleeping and playing beat the clock with work. Things should calm down with the typing next week. If not, I'll make due. I need the money too bad to say no.

milk with sugar? gross. No, the naturally occuring sugar in milk, lactose. I am addicted to it. I'm a milk junkie.

I only drink chocolate milk.I love chocolate milk, but since they tweaked the NesQuick recipie (so I don't use it anymore), it's harder to make, as I have to do it from scratch with powdered baking chocolate and sugar.

But I love plain milk; it's what I order to drink at most restaurants.

I just read the first issue about an hour ago. The first issue was relatively slow as the basically explain origin of her powers but it's left off at a good point and looks like it could be interesting. The writing was good enough and has some good art. I'm trusting they can make this character more interesting that she should be. He's done a good job with her so far in New Avengers so.....

My 20,000th post, from the thread of almost the same name :)

This ended up being much longer than I expected but what the hell? :)

Well what do you know, time for another milestone post already. Seems like it wasn’t too long ago that I was making my 10, 000th post. Time sure flies when you’re unemployed

Y’know, if someone had told me a year and a half ago that I’d be posting on a message board, I’d have told them to stop daydreaming. I never liked these places. Most of my experience with message boards came from guys I knew posting on them when I was hanging out in their houses and to be honest, the boards they frequented where full of nothing but obnoxious assholes, so it pretty much turned me off the places.

When I started going online at first, I started visiting boards unintentionally at first. I got linked to the BenBo a few times, Millarworld too but oddly, Millar world was where I started going, mainly because of the comic solicitations. They were easy to find there and that’s why I used to go online back then. I eventually decided to join both boards but then something happened that I’m not going to dredge up but suffice it to say, I decided against it and didn’t come back for quite a while.

Then last year I got a job in an internet café working the night shift. For the first 2 weeks, the café wasn’t open and they had no security system hooked up so I got the job of sitting in the building on my own from midnight until 8am on my own. At first I read and listened to music but once the net was hooked up, I started killing time faster by going online.

Eventually I found my way back to Millarworld and here and joined both just to pass some time. As with most people, I was a bit uneasy joining up. I didn’t know anyone. I’d never been on a board myself and as I stated, my only experience with boards was with people being monumental assholes with each other. Now, there was none of that here, at least not during my first few days :p but still, it was new and scary :scared:

I posted around, and was mostly ignored at first, as is the case for the most part. I eventually was spoken to in a thread and started reconsidering my stay here (I was having a bad night to begin with) but my mind was changed. The first person to reply to me was less than pleasant to say the least, but right below him someone else had relied to me. This was my introduction to kubiak. He had provided me with a link to a free preview of the comic in question and offered to find more links if I was interested.

We started talking and getting along so I decided to stay (so everyone who doesn’t like me? It’s Kube’s fault :p ). So, having made my first acquaintance here, I came back. Of course the jammy little bastard vanished for about a week and a half so I was basically at square one, but still, when he returned we got on like a house on fire.

After a while, I started getting more used to the place, started a few threads of my own to get to know more people around here and started participating in some discussions. All was well. Eventually, due to kubiak, I started hanging out in two separate threads, frequented by pretty much the same group of people, Jon_Dye, emeraldsundae, moonspider, Raphael (then MoonWing), Taxman and Goddard (albeit, only briefly…. And when VERY drunk) and from then on, we hung out pretty much non-stop.

People came and went, but the core group pretty much stayed. Then shortly after I joined (after stunning quite a few people by acquiring nearly 9 thousand posts in on a month and a half) the Image Boards crashed.

Eventually, we set up here. I was emailed with the new location and I returned and everything went back to normal.

Then Taxman started an infamous thread aimed toward kubiak. I replied, so did kubiak and Em, and pretty soon we were at it again. Eventually that thread grew to be the largest thread on the board (and from what I’ve heard from others, just about the largest thread they’d seen on any board).

For a long time, I mainly stayed in that thread, or other ones started by people from that thread. Mainly due to the times when board drama would start and I just didn’t want to deal with it. I came here to relax, so I avoided all the grief. And doing so let me get to know a fair few people better. Lots of people started flocking in and eventually, the thread became like one big local bar. Everyone was civil to each other and getting to know each other. A fact I’m thankful for.

This board has kept me pretty sane for the most part over the last year or so. I’ve gotten to know some great people, and become acquainted with several more really cool ones too. I’ve gotten to hang out with a few boarders, although it was only for a day both times, and I will hopefully be meeting more by the end of the year if all goes well.

So now comes the part where I give a shout out to those people who matter to me here, so if you did a search on your name and this thread popped up, just keep scrolling to your name like you want and then you can go…….. Bastard :p

Going to lay this out like Tibbittz did with his milestone post.

The obvious one goes to Bendis and NEWS, without whom there would BE no board. Bendis gave us all a place to hang out, but NEWS keeps this place running so good job you two :D

I’d give a shout out to the mods too but I don’t really speak to Denny much and Alysha’s just a girlie with a Dazzler fetish so…. :p

 SWEET JESUS, I WAS KIDDING!!! DON’T BAN MEEEEEE!!!!!

Ahem, De…Denny and Alysha are… are great mo…mods and.. Um… and are great. They do great wo…work. I read this note of my own free will and was not co…. coerced into it at all :scared:

Not much I can say here that hasn’t been said already more times than I can count.

Kubiak - If not for you I probably wouldn’t have stuck around that much at first, and would probably have stopped coming here for the most part, in which case I wouldn’t have gotten to know anyone here………… IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT YOU BASTARD!!!

Red Sonja - I’ve known you half as long but you’re pretty much on a par with Kube. You’ve helped me out as often as he has and put up with my angry rants more than most. For that alone you should be sainted

GavBrown - You’re a stand up guy and I’m sorry our meet-ups couldn’t have been longer. We need to do another Dublin trip sometime, when I have money :D

Bubbles - Same goes for you man. We need to drink more next time though

Taxman - Said it all before man, Kube may have kept me here but you were the one who started the ball rolling on the Kube thread. And I thank you for it J

Perfect Despair - We don’t talk much anymore, mostly because you weren’t around a lot when I was, but it’s been great having you around to cht again :D

Jenifu - You haven’t been around much recently, but you have been missed around here. Hurry back before your beer gets drunk…… by Gav :shifty:

Amy and AaronM - You guys are a great couple and it was great talking to you two for a few minutes over the holidays. I look forward to bugging you in person some day ;)

Lyra - You and your pictures are always a welcome sight on the board. It’s a shame you aren’t around more often J

Giannini - You’re a big, bald meany who laughs at my lack of technology skills and gets beaten up by his sister. You suck :miffed: (I kid, you’re a pal ;) ). Hope school’s going well J

moonspider - Not much to say here that I haven’t said already. You bring much needed hugs to the board more often than not J

Jon_Dye - It’s been great getting to know you man. I’m glad the move seems to have gone well.

Emeraldsundae - Yet another person who hasn’t been around a great deal recently but still missed.

Others I haven’t mentioned like those above only because I haven’t known them as long but get on well with nonetheless. So a shout out to NinjaPirate, Jhiss, AAlgar, Wren, JABSEN, Your Pal Jim, Brian Reed, Chris Busse (where have you gone you fucker? :p), TheTravis, beep beep, Adam Witt, Human Taget, Goddard, Evan the Shaggy, Joshzilla, Raydawggie, aldo, Pat Loika (:heybaby: ), madmartigan, sleepy, Flonk, Auron, Taki, Mike Hasseloff, j.o.1, The Blandy/ Cathy campaign (Vote Blandy/ Cathy ‘08  ), Angel, DeviousElite, Yankee and Tibbitz.

I want to end this by thanking everyone here, you guys have all been really cool to me over the last year. It's been a tremendous help, and has actually helped me through some pretty rough times.

Ahhhh, this is not the kebab on a stick we're talking about here.

Take slices off of this and put in Pitta with salad and chilli sauce. Very similar to the Gyros, but done in the way only the british seem to do it.

I wish to god I could get one outside of this country.
