I will either listen to Radiohead or Coldplay. Usually Coldplay. When I want to perk up, probably Red Hot Chili Peppers.

When I need to fall asleep I listen to Heavy Metal or techno. The steady monotonus beats put me to sleep. If I want to perk up though... Talking Heads or Pixies

Mellow out (as in sad or moody) - Nick Cave

Mellow out (as in chillin' or relaxing) - Pink Floyd

Perk up (as in pissed) - Dead Kennedys

To mellow out, i listen to Keane, Coldplay or any of the OC soundtracks (apart from the god-awful christmakuh one).

Lately to perk up it's System of a Down. And I don't think I've ever listened to music to mellow out. I guess I'm just naturally mellow.

Mellow out = relax; calm down; chill out

Perk up = get into an excited or energized state.

I usually listen to Luna to mellow out.

Nah, just kidding.

To perk up (or I listen to it alot while working out or to run to get me in the right mindset), I'll listen to Rob Zombie or White Zombie (especially various tracks from Astrocreep 2000 or Hellbilly Deluxe) or AC/DC.

To Mellow out, For an odd reason, I like listening to Type O Negative alot.

Of course I always have room for NIN.
