From the Marvel mailer...

*Powers #14 (JUN052044D) was printed with a $3.95 cover price, not $2.95 as solicited and intended. However, retailers will be invoiced at the original $2.95 cover price.

Dont let your shop over charge you!

hypothetical question for you... and stay with me- i go fast-

you know how you have your money back guarantee and everything? lets say i bought 1,000 copies of powers #14 and the retailer sells each one to me at $2.95 and i absolutely hate it- it insults every bit of my intelligence (don't laugh) and leaves me wishing i was somewhere better- like high pitch eric's apartment- does that mean i could ask for my money back? (and since cover price is $3.95, i make a cool $1,000 profit  )

Jeff, is the Canadian price right, or do I fight there too?

And exactly how do I approach my retailer to punch it in at the right price? I don't want to come off as a dick...

How about this? If you're comic shop hooks you up and treats you well, give them the buck! In this business, every dollar counts...

But if they suck, demand to pay regular price... tell them to read their Marvel Mailer if they want proof... I can forward it to anyone that needs it.

I don't want to come off like a dick because he'll stop ordering indie books for me.

Last week he fucking put my Nightfisher on the shelf. Good thing no one grabbed it.

Yeah, just tell your retailer and there shouldn't be a hassle. I just called my co-workers who work tomorrow to charge $2.95 for the book in case they aren't informed.

Just take your business elsewhere if it gets to this point. If your retailer is that much of a jerk that he can't honor a price that HE was charged for, then he doesn't deserve your business.

The only problem is that I'd be payihng $5.15 for a normal issue.

But I won't complain about this anymore until I actually get charged that.

Fuck. I paid $3.95. I even mentioned to the clerk at my shop: "Powers cover price went up, eh?"

To which he responded..."Yeah. I haven't read the letters page yet so I'm don't know about that."

What the fuck did that mean? I wish I saw this thread before I went today. How'd I miss it?
