I've never read it (yet). Some alternate universe thingy or what?

Scarlet witch uses her powers to change the world. Some of the heroes remember & head off to stop her. Magneto finds out that Quicksilver gave Scarlet Witch the idea and kills him. Witch brings him back to life & puts the world back the way it was but casts a spell so that there are no more mutants. Doctor Strange protects the mutants that are there & savces them, so they still are mutants. Only a few people remember the "House of M"

Ok, that will be $23.60. ;-)

The big world change occurred in HOM #1, however, it looks like Wanda's been manipulating reality for sometime now in less obvious ways

So what we are talking about here is the scarlet witch messing up the marvel universe (the the after effects actually felt by the universe afterwords)?

is it like that one thing where prof x's son shot magento or whatever and then all the x issues flopped into something else for 4 months (genreally speaking)?

The current thinking is that the entire Magneto/Xorn/Planet X/New X-Men/imposter debacle was Wanda's doing, as well as any/all times where Magneto returned for no apparent reason.

no i dont htink this is going to last for four months.
i think the ramifacations of house of m will actually last for quite some time.

i dotn know how if it will greatly effect books that are not xmen... but im sure we'll find out.

Actually, it's not an altered reality.

Given Xavier's absense, it's likely it took place in everyone's heads.

Maybe Xavier's a vegetable now?

Average Joe comic reader didnt grasp the whole Xorn (or even the entire run of New X-Men) thing so they have to clean it up with HoM?

noone really understood that. magneto is xorn, no hes not he is soomeone else and it wasnt xorn it was his brother and wtf???

nope Wanda is going nuts and messing with reality, Magneto fucks up quicksilver with some big chunks of metal, Wanda feels him die comes out, takes charge and resurrects him.

AND resurreted. wtf. i need to read it again.

the only thing i remember from that page was that there was a panel where Quicksilver was on the ground but all of Bendis' dialogue covered his face :P

You should really pick up the issues. Great read, plus there's going to be a lot going on in the Marvel U now because of it.

I'd actually recommend the opposite... it was an okay read and is now going to become a bit bigger bookwise by writers that have proven themselves to pretty much be just at the compentency level given what they've done before... devote your cash to something more self contained *coughNextWavecough* if you found the thing uninteresting to begin with...

This is a very helpful comment and the best one out of the whole bunch. I'm pretty much trying to determine what the rationale is behind the whole HoM thing (is it to clean up some mess or what?) and how much of it is marketing (it will impact the marvel universe forever!!!!1) as compared to a story that really needs to be told? know what I mean? I'm not trying to slam the work or the story in anyway, seeing as I havent read any of it, but I see these new titles popping up like x-men 158 or whatever it is and I'm assuming its an offshot of HoM somehow?
