Played XBox 360 at Best Buy

Just got home from Best Buy. I was picking up Battlefront 2 for my girlfriend. After picking up the game I decided to stroll through the XBox section and what do I see? A playable XBox 360 demo unit with Call Of Duty 2 on it. There were two people playing it at the time so I just watched for a few minutes. Then one of them asked me if I wanted to play and I hopped on and he gave me a quick run through of the controls. I must say the 360 controller is much better than the Controller S for the standard XBox (and I love the Controller S) It fits very comfortably in your hands. Button layout is great as well.

As for Call Of Duty the graphics were amazing. I've never played Call Of Duty before so I don't know how the other versions are but the gameplay was fast and intense. It feels like you're in a real battle, there were so many things going on screen at the same time. People were all over the place shooting at each other and dying and tossing grenades and whatnot, not to mention planes flying all over in the sky above and even things far off in the distance were clear as day. I kind of wish I had pre-ordered a 360 now.

go to walmart very early on the monday before it comes out and wait like me. or if there is an eb games near you you might be able to preorder it still. You won't get it day one but the place i preordered at (just in case wallmart fails me) said i'll get it before christmas which is fine by me

Nah. I only saw the one game. I let those guys get back to playing it because I didn't want to be in the store all day. Traffic starts to pick up in that area around this time and I didn't want to get stuck in it. I'll have to remember to check that out next time though.

I never played the first one, so I don't have a basis of comparisons.

Some have been hyping it and as a result were disappointed, but overall it seems positive, just not the "reason to buy a 360" some wanted it to be.

I saw a brief clip on IGN and it looked decent.

....i just played a 360 at walmart ...i'm VERY unhappy. I dunno if it was the TV i was playing on or just the demo but dammit it was jaggy as all hell. I wasn't expecting next gen shit to look this jaggy on the lines and pixles. WTF

Was it a shitty tv ? i dunno it looked like a brand new flat screen. (do you need a hi def TV for it to not be jaggy ?)

The games (both Kameo and COD2) were fairly pretty and the character models looked more realistic but WTF i don't want no jaggies on my demos :(

Well they are demos and not final gold versions, so that could be part of it. Though if it wasn't a HDTV, that likely would cause some degradation in the quality of the graphics, too.

these were some pretty crummy jaggies though im talking like low budget xbox game jaggies. The character models were stunning but the jaggies were horrid. i hope to god it was just the demo and not what the games will look like an a non HD TV. I know they won't look as good on a regular tv but that was just crazy....and i can't afford a 360 and a HDTV at the same time :(

It makes no sense to me to buy it as soon as it comes out. One, they are bringing out a better version, or so I hear. Two, the games don't really take off and show what the system has until the late second/early third year. Three, if you have only a limited amount of money to spend and it turns out another system looks better for what you want, or it turns out this doesn't live up the the unreasonably fantastic hype, you're screwed.

yeah, I wasn't even really considering DoA4 but then saw that Master Chief from the Halo series was a playable character. Plus what I've seen looks really good. The last DoA that I played was the one that launched with Dreamcast.

Speaking of the release date i asked yesterday if the Walmart in this town was staying open to sell them at midnight (because they arn't a super center and don't stay open 24/7) and the lady looked at me funny and said "i dunno"
