I was still king of holding out hope this was just a bad joke allowed to run way too long.

If it's not that, then I tend to think bringing Denny and Alysha back is the best thing. There are no real suitable replacements as mods for one thing. None. Denny and Alysha were always reasonable, even in the face of people being unbelievable assholes.

Exactly. If this did happen like we've been told, I'm 100% in support of removing the duty of Moderators from Denny and Alysha. Mods should never openly argue with one another in public on a board. I do think that Denny and Alysha should still be welcome as members of the community since they put in so much time and effort as volunteers.

On the other hand, if this is a joke it's gone on far too long to be funny. It's causing a lot of confusion and stress on the board members. People are saying things, positive and negative, about the people involved. How is that productive? If people say something that offends any of these people and it's a joke, I have to think there will inevitably be hard feelings. Has it become just another "I adore <insert mod name>" ego booster? And is it a big in joke with other 'special' people on the board?

We don't need the chaos. In my opinion, it's just as detrimental to the community as another F/M/K thread. Sure, it's no Con molestation thread but trust me, if it's a joke Graeme at FBR will still take plenty of quotes out of context and fuck us all. I was on the Image board, I know what the board is usually like. It's usually balances precariously between fun and "Oh my God, why do I come here?". The last few days have been unrelenting, merciless HELL!
