Yes, how so? I find amazon.com to be most pleasing.

I take it you saw this first hand? :mistrust:

They most definitely do not swallow.

And for the record, their customer service people are alright. It's a shame they are completely hog-tied to the point where all they can do is listen to someone vent and not actually help them.

I used to, but there are still stocks not yet cashed in.

A friend of mine has a baby on the way, and since we can't make it out to the Wisconsin area for the shower, we are sending them a gift via mail. They are registered at Babies R Us, which deals through Amazon.

I bought the gift and (yes this was all my mistake) I forgot to have it gift wrapped and a card attached. So I tried to change the order to allow that, and we are talking a window of a few seconds here between the initial order and the change. And they wouldn't let me. And their shitty computer system that is not set up to track orders through the warehouse properly, wouldn't let the customer service people do it either, try as they might.

I just think it's pretty ridiculous not to be able to change an order when it's obviously in a space of time where it's not even possible for them to process it. And to not allow the customer service reps to be able to fix it either? That's a dumb business procedure.

Rant over. It may be minor, I know, but it's real fucking annoying.

Its cause they charge tax isn't it? I'm with you there.

Yeah! And what's up with THAT? And the whole "charging you for merchandise" thing? WTF?

It may have been in the shipping process already. Some items, they just go into shipping right away if it's a popular item that is in stock. The moment that light goes on in the warehouse, the picker grabs the item and gets it ready. Sadly, there isn't a convienent way for the CS dept and the Warehouse to stay in constant touch. The CS rep has to email the gopher or lemming or whatever rodent it is (Different rodent per warehouse) and then the rodent has to check and get back, that's why it takes so long. It's a shitty system I agree, but it's also a way to make things ship more efficiantly. Now, if it was a good rep... he or she would have given you a GC.

As for Tax. I live in Seattle and have always had to pay tax because Amazon has a presence in Washington State. Just as there is a warehouse in KY that is why Denny pays tax too

i still dont get charged tax

and i have amazon prime, and living close to the PA warehouse, i get almost all dvds and cds next day. ive had problems wiht them in the past, but theyve also given me a lot of free money to buy more amazon stuff. i'd say at least somewhere between 100-150 in credits.

That's because they have a big warehouse in Louisville, KY... I don't get charged tax in Indiana. :D
