X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse

Well as Mortal Combat goes for the Double Dragon crowd and everyone's stained their fanboy sheet over Ultimate Spider-man (not to mention Marvel tries to shove new characters down our throat in the guise of a fighting game), is there anyone playing X-Legends II Rise of Apocalypse?

I was hoping to start a thread for those of us who have gotten past Apocalypse mansion visit to finding themselves lost in this wonderful game.

Anyone beat Mikaihl, the dude after Omega Red? Need some tips, he's potting every combo of teams into the ground faster then Quicksilver makes love.

buncha legends threads last coupla weeks. I'm at the fight with Apocolypse. Can't get past him.

At first with Mikhail when he does the multiples thing, run away until you can take one or two at a time. when he does the shield thing you gotta kill the bad guys on the circles.

I'm pretty sure there have been a few other threads that may be useful

I beat him using wolverine, magneto, rogue and colossus
I think the trick is no to get surrounded by the clones, try and lure them into the lower area a few at a time, have lots of energy packs to refill focus, and keep using rogue and colossus' heavy punches...one or two hits and the clones drop

the second part is definitely harder, trying to get those manifestations to collapse in the right spot is almost impossible...the 4th one is the fucking hardes and almost got me killed but I lucked into it by turning all the npc-AI to "defensive" so they wouldn't go after the bad guys in the wrong spots

Rule 1 always have a flyer ...i like rogue but thats just me. only tried once. got past the generators ok enough. it was fighting the four horseman and apocolypse at the same time that killed me. But it could be because my group is at level 45 or 46 and they are like 55's. may need to level up n the danger room.

This game is the first time I've thought Apocalypse was a cool character, he comes across (in the game cinematics) as a Darkseid type character that doesn't come across well in his past comic appearances

Awesome game. Im stuck towards the end. I have no idea where the canopic container is to put the canopic whatchamacallits in. In fact I have no idea what canopic means and Im too lazy to look it up on the 'net. Ive ben wandering around aimlessly for a while now. Can anyone help a bruvva out???

i found it by accident. it's basically just a big box. walk up to it and it should say "press x to place jar" or whatever.

its in the area where you found the jars to begin with. i think thats the anubis temple but it could be the selket temple i don't remember i only know its in the same area you found them. Use a flyer to fly around the map and look for it. flyers help alot

I really wasn't paying attention. I was on the phone, and just running around to the red x's on the map and stumbled on it.

i just tried to get Apocalypse all by himself or with only one or two of his friends. that did the trick and i walloped him with combos and Rogues flying special attack ...if you hit a guy just right with it it can do multiple sets of damage. You need to try and back his ass into a corner though

I've been doing a whole lot of switching around, with a slight leaning toward the team of Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler, and Colossus(though Rogue is a far more versatile strength character). well for one the more you stay with a team the more experiance they get. I personnaly rotated a few times my wingmen but for the most part it was Magneto, Rogue, Iceman and Bishop. Each one of the characters not only has different abilitys that come in handy they also all have essential abilitys to help you get far in the game. Rogue can fly, iceman makes bridges, Bishop can syphon and steal energy and mag's was great for leadership. I made them all wear AOA gear and they were a force to be recconed with.

I tried to keep it balanced at first, but it just didn't work out. So I got my team, Cyclops, Iceman Colossus, and Wolverine and stuck with it. Plowed through almost everything. Have to switch out every once in a while for either a flier or Nightcrawler but other than that no problems.

noticed that you have to initiate most of that now in the mission briefings, with the only real cutscenes happening between the 5 acts.

It killed most of my enthusiasm to play it. I only really like those games when I'm playing with my friends, and I haven't really be able to do that much anymore. But I was gonna get it for all the cool designs and scenes. The Beast getting jumped scene was nice, but was short as hell. Now I don't think I'm going to bother.

it's so much fun tho. does take away from it that most of the story happens in the little text ballon things. but still a great game.

I just beat it. Now I need to just finish all the Danger Room challenges and Ill be set. My girl wants to start playing, but from the first one. So Ill be re[playing both probably starting this weekend. These are great games, but I kindsa wish there was a lil more strategy involved. It seemed like there was a tidbit more during act 5. It seemed towards the end there was nothing you could do to get Collosus killed. He was pretty much invincible.

I kept rotating my characters throughout, but next time I think Im gonna try to keep maybe 2 permanents on the team and rotate the other 2. I really dig Jean, and cyke is always an ass-kicker.
