Blank Pages in TPBs

You know the ones I mean. The blank pages, or random images, in the middle of a chapter to set up a double page spread that otherwize would have been broken up

I know why they are there.


But i don't know why they HAVE to be there

Why, when an editor realizes that this is going to happen, does he not put them at the begining of the text, so that the story is not interrupted...?

I'm guessing the blank pages are also there to compensate for missing pages of ads. You can also use it to jot down your grocery list.

Or make up your own pages.

Because there was a double-page spread a the beginning of the issue, then an odd number of pages later, another double-page spread. It's then unavoidable that it will be in the middle of the story.
