PowerPoint question

I know I'm going to the 'dark side' on this one, needing to use a Microsoft product for design, but bear with me. I need to know how to get the origin of the rulers on a PowerPoint slide to start at the top left. They seem to be centered on the slide, and I can't accurately measure from the top left corner.

Why create a design program like PowerPoint and NOT ALLOW FOR RULER ADJUSTMENT. GAH!

dont they start in the corners? look at the numbers it starts at like 3 inches or something compensating for the area you are not seeing.
