So I'm just following spoilers on the whole Nightwing issue right now, with him going undercover into the criminal world, so if this is a bad concept, bitch slap me and get it over with.
Would it have been more interesting to have Nightwing flip to the dark side due to some final breaking point with Bruce instead of having Jason Todd come back?

Not for me. Nightwing, to me, was always the happier of the pair. One who could have a normal life with relationships and friendships, as opposed to Bruce who only had the appearance of such things. If either one of them was going to turn, it would have been Batman because he was more prone to going too far to protect the citizenry.
Dick quit being Robin. Until he cooked up the Nightwing persona, he stopped being a full-flegded hero. Bruce could never do that.

I thought that was always more like the current Robin, especially after reading the TT/Outsiders Secret Files that came out yesterday. Starfire describes the difference between Nightwing and Robin pretty well.
Nightwing has never seemed like a happy character to me, but I just recently really started following him.

The easiest explanation is that the guy grew up. Even the names of his two personas suggest a literal darkening of presentation. It becomes more complicated when we see the direction his life has turned since becoming Nightwing (his relationship with Kory went to shit, for starters), and then there's the overall tone of the DC Universe. But yeah, Wolfman showed that Dick was very aware of the life Bruce made for himself and what that cost him. He, at least back in the hey-ho '80s, didn't want to go that route.

Yeah, I had gathered that from some of the Outsiders comics out. It's that darkening of presentation that made me think a better next step would have been making him a major antoginist for Bruce, instead of resurrecting a dead character.

The plot with Nightwing going underground has been dumped,
now he's becoming a Batman clone with his dumb sidekick

I'm pretending the "evil Nightwing joins the Society" story by Devin Grayson isn't happening.

Wow yall realy hate this storyline don't ya ? personally i think its great. Nightwing needed to spread his wings and by doing so he's gotten himself a little dirty in the process.
Now that he's working with deathstroke im even begining to wonder if maybe deep down in Dicks mind he's really commited to this and not just "fooling everyone"
He's lost alot of friends and dosn't seem to care anymore so maybe he's acting evil on purpose...though i gotta admit just siding with deathstroke only to rescue a girl from an orphanane isn't evil.
anywho what do yall think about his relationship ? In his own book he's been lamenting over Bab's alot....in Outsiders he's banging the shit out of Kory. When he finds out Bab's might be able to walk again how do yall think he'll react (or how shhould they write it lol )

Nightwing is good, but Dick working for the mob, is by far more interesting, than this small IC tie-in where he has to train Ravager, which is a real annoying character
He never will have a relationship, because he already fuced everyone who's going to trust in him

yeah i liked the whole Crutches Grayson working for the mob thing too. i think this Ravenger thing might be interesting it's almost like role reversal for Dick. now he has to be the hero with a young ward (though this ward is more talkative and psycotic) it will be interesting IMO where it goes from the last issue.
BTW i loved the Deathwing comment about names and his respose. Does that mean their dragging him back up soon too ?
