Long URL glitch?

When I post a link to an image from MSN Groups like the following:

The board automatically puts a blank space somewhere in the middle of the URL.

Is there a chance of adding a patch that autoshortens long urls like tinyurl does?

VBulletin has a feature which breaks up a line of unbroken text.

I'm not sure if it can be turned off, but it's what's causing that.
