If Tim Farriss is still rocking when he's approaching 70, I sure as shit want to see 52 year old Marty Casey fronting them. And Marty would ensure that they're not going to become a blah kareoke act, JD would because he doesn't want to do anything new.

JD is NOT going to win. They want to get away from Michael Hutchence, and if they go with JD, they're just getting a bad impersonator.

Why would JD's comment cinch it? Because he's licking their assholes? He comes off as a fanboy, not as someone seriously ready to front this band. I mean, did you SEE Marty tonight? When he performed Trees, he looked like he was going to burst. He was INTO IT. Like he was already INXS' singer (and he's had more encores than anyone, I might add). When Brooke called his name, he was ready to get up there and sing a song for them again. He's READY. Man's got determination.

JD can go back to impersonating Elvis. :D

Marty makes me :boogie: Hell, I didn't like him till about the third week or so, but I'm currently revisiting his first performances, and I must've been deaf. They're great.

Donny, I didn't mind the Elvis guy, but that third looking plastic guy with the tight pants and that haircut just creeped me out. So :boogie: to Marty then. :boogie: for sure.

When I see him play Trees, I see Marty. Not INXS. Marty is not going to stay with INXS, I just can't see it. If he wins I think he would finish the contract tour, then use the publicity to promote a band of his own like Lovehammers. A band he can control, influence, do what he wants with.

And yes, I think INXS wants a frontman who kisses thier ass. One who impersonates others, instead of having a strong identity of his own. A singer like JD is a guy they can mold. He's weak, he would never make it on his own. He needs INXS, and they need someone who will stay with them.

Whaaaaa? they said specifically in the last clinic (don't know if you're watching the VH1 episodes) that they DIDN'T want someone who'd just kiss their asses. What's the point? Michael never did, so why would they want someone now?

JD needs INXS, but INXS doesn't need JD. They challenge Marty every week and even give him trick questions to se how he'll answer (the "meeting you half-way" thing, for example). They just pat JD on the head and tell him that they like his song THAT THEY WROTE. Pretty Vegas is a flippin' INXS song! Andrew Farriss WROTE THE MUSIC!

See, I am missing half the picture because I've never watched any of the VH1 stuff (I don't have cable). That's why I was betting on the girl to win, Jordis. I didn't realize she was falling apart behind the scenes, I just saw the actual performances.

Maybe they are going to go with the best talent instead of the one they would have the best future with, I don't know. Still seems like a bad idea though, I wouldn't if I was them.

I just want to say that this is the happiest I've ever been with a reality TV final 3. The three remaining guys are all great, and I can't wait to see who wins. Compare this with the finals of Big Brother. :roll:

All the more reason that JD should get this gig. I don't think this is lost on the band at all. It's a pretty good INXS song, and I totally hear it on the radio in about 3 months.

Marty will get his own band and exposure for this whole experience. Not to worry. He's JUST NOT RIGHT for INXS.
