high schools have songs?

fuck

I missed out on a lot. I went to a special high school consisting of 5 kids, 1 teacher in a warehouse room when I started, and about 100 kids, 6 teachers, and 7 rooms in the same warehouse.

no prom, no athletic teams, no nothing of the normal high school stuff...

Shaggy - Boombastic, on a side note the girls wanted TLC - Waterfalls... but there were more boys to veto so we are "very faunnn-tasstic"

having the misfortune to graduate in 1998, we had that good riddance/time of your life song by green day that you KNOW was the song for every high school that year (it seems like every year since then there's been a "graduating high school" them song).. i would rather have had the theme from shaft..

Then a beach ball appeared...

At the end of the graduation ceremony, the class song will play. It's when people start saying goodbye and good luck...then toss their graduation caps to the air or whatever.

In my school (which was a ghetto-ass mo-fo of a school), the class picked R. Kelly's "I Believe I can Fly."

As the song played, random people (a lot of which were...associates) got up and started flapping their arms like wings to go with the song...

We looked ridiculous. But it was funny.

A lot of people cried.

Look for Morse High School when you time travel. It's on Skyline drive in San Diego. Look out for the gangs, though.

at the senior breakfast 2 days before graduation we watched the senior video (that was horribly put together and featured the worst music ever) and during the video that song by Vitamin C "Graduation Song" and I cried like a little girl. And Im not afraid to admit it.

I missed out on so much.

my graduation was in a room, no other students, and my teachers and the superintendant sat at a round table and talked about my accomplishments and how I deserve to graduate and stuff.

fuck that, I didn't miss out at all, my school FUCKING ROCKED

Ours was never played, it just went into our senior year books as "favorite song". During our graduation we had a lame ass song that the full choir sang. I'm sure it was something like "Bring Me Home Again" or "On Eagles Wings".

Ok, this is really lame, but it was Radar Love by Golden Earring. That's not to say that it isn't a good song, because I really like it, but it's not really fitting for the time or the place. It was a weird year and I went to school with weird kids.

I don't remember my high school prom song, I'd have to ask my buddy. He remembers that stuff. Oddly, I do remember my 8th grade prom song because I danced with the girl I liked, but she didn't like me.

Every Rose Has Its Thorn...how appropriate.

and thus began a long and painful road of rejection.

our senior prom was wonderful tonight, eric clampton or something...we didnt vote on that either.

I think that the night when they were giving us our diplomas (ain´t that what you call "prom"), they played Queen´s "We are the Champions", or maybe a Britney Spears´ song, I was too drunk to remember.

For better or for ill due to age, I cannot recall my HS's senior song (or whatever). I do recall that fucking Limited Warranty played at one of the proms I attended (I think that was my Junior year).

Let's just say, for the sake of joining in this thread, that the song was SLOW RIDE by Foghat or RIDE MY FACE TO CHICAGO by Frank Zappa.

Man, oddly enough, my ELEMENTRY school had a graduation song and it was... "I Believe I Can Fly"... and we had to go to "rehersal" for it the week before and learn the words... so we could SING IT.

Plus, for some friggin' bizarre reason, despite being like... 2 years ago (which makes the song like 5 years out of date, at least) or so... my HS Graduation song was "Good Riddance" by Green Day

Man, I wish my high school senior class song would've been "Picture me Rollin'".

I don't know what it was, because I would have been graduating this year. Although, my friend Tory and I had said that we were going to try and get 'This is Your Life' as our song. You know, the Tyler Durden one.
