I'm starting a little ritual. Every month I'm gonna try and get me a Batman TPB. But if I couldn't get one that month, I'd save the one from that month to the next month.
So, suggest some Batman TPBs to get.
I've already got Hush Vol. 1 & 2, Absolution, Year One, War Drums, Long Halloween, Black and White Vol. 1, and Superman/Batman Vol. 1 & 2.
Thank you. :D

My store doesn't carry Chalice, and I flipped through DKR the other day, it looked pretty damn good.

Yeah, Cult was just so creepy and disturbing on levels that Joker never reached when he was in a Batman title.

That sounds familiar. What's it about?

Just to add something new:
JLA VOL 1: NEW WORLD ORDER PB
Grant Morrison/ Howard Porter
Disliking the useless prick calling himself Batman these days? Bored of the grim-'n-gritty bull**** that ruined so many comics for more than a decade after 1985? Read this.
BATMAN: TEN NIGHTS OF THE BEAST PB
Jim Starlin/ Jim Aparo
Underrated in my eyes, despite the post-THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS grim influence/portrayal, a tale of Batman facing someone better at the game than he is and whose mission has global consequences. Illustrated by longtime Batman-associated artist Jim Aparo, who passed on two months or so ago.

Thanks everybody. I think I might start with that No Man's Land set. I read a few pages of the first book and it seemed awesome.
But by all means, don't stop. Give me more. :D

There is a character named Deacon Blackfire who creates an underground (literally) army of all the homeless and crazy people of Gotham City and end up taking the whole city over forcing everyone (police included) to leave the city and abaondon it.
That sounds familiar. What's it about?

Huh, that sounds really interesting. Who's the artist?

Bernie Wrightson. And there are creepy parts like the army rising from beneath the manhole covers and attacking regular citizens and cops

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned Matt Wagner's brilliant BATMAN: FACES .

I'd also recommend any of the animated-style collections. They are sooooo good. In fact, I think they are significantly better than the regular DCU comics.
Batman Adventures, Vol. 1: Rogues Gallery (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1401203299//ref=nosim/jinxworld-20)

Batman Adventures, Vol. 2: Shadows & Masks (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1401203302//ref=nosim/jinxworld-20)

Batman Adventures: Dangerous Dames and Demons (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1563899736//ref=nosim/jinxworld-20) is great. MAD LOVE (one of the stories collected here)is one of the best comics I have ever read! An amazing comic that won both the Eisner and the Harvey.

I'me in the middle of reading Tales of the Demon. I had been reading Batman for about 15 years, before the whole line got so bloated. This was some refreshing old school Batman from Denny O'neil.
I also just read Death and the Maidens, which was pretty good too.

I agree with everything mentioned except maybe the animated-style stuff. I just cant get into them, even though I love the series. Anyways, I also want to mention that ALL of "...the Demon" books are fantastic. Theres not a one that I didnt like.

Batman The Cult is an excellent read! although you have to disconnect from the continuity you know about Batman.

If you liked Superman/Batman and/or Batman Faces, you might want to check out TRINITY by Matt Wagner (telling the story of the first time Bats, Supes, and WW worked together).
