I caught the first two episodes of this on Showtime over the last few days and have been very impressed. Not only are the actors really charming and engaging, and not only are the plots well constructed and cleverly thought out, but it's the only comedy I've seen in a while that has me laughing out loud many times each episode.
If you haven't seen it, seek it out. It's really good.

Didn't even know they made a series out of this.
I approve. I loved the first movie.

I saw the what I think was the first episode. I really wanted to like it, but I really didn't. It was weak.

Okay, so what is this a parody of? Link please?Hmmm? It's a new series on Showtime based on the "Barbershop" movies...
It had its good points but It really needs some work. Im still going to support it for a few more episodes to see if it gets better. I really miss the Show time series Soul Food now that was a damn good show.

I particulary enjoy the way the dialogue keeps going off on tangents, and that characters will end up sharing the same tangents at different points. In the second episode, there are several running gags, ranging from how much everyone loves Target to why it's likely that Koreans are running a new store in the neighborhood.
It's edgy and controversial, but it's also really big-hearted and very funny.

Alright, I'll give it another chance.
