From the esteemed Steve Epting at Millarworld:
Michael drew all of issue 9 and it continues the current story - not flashbacks. The book looks absolutely fantastic as you might expect. I want to thank Michael for stepping in and busting his ass to get this done while my family dealt with a horrible tragedy. I also want to thank all of you for putting up with the delays during this time and for being so supportive of the book.
The good news is that we should be back on schedule after this and we'll all get to read that Brubaker goodness every month.
Steve
So Lark fans, DAREDEVIL fans, and other fans of high quality reading can be on the lookout for a surprise 22-page serving of Ed Brubaker/Michael Lark goodness on another fantastic title. This was quickly mentioned by Michael in one of his posts, but hopefully everyone will get note of this.
Allen
PS. Best wishes to Steve Epting and his family.

I'm on board for Captain America, late or not, I could care less - SO GOOD! Brubaker is writing it, but with amazing artists like Epting and Lark working on it that's just the icing on the cake, that book is so gorgeous!

Just read it, and it was fantastic!
There are a few great writer artist combos out there. and Brubaker/Lark is becoming one of my favorites.
Hey Mike (melike) good to see you over here. I'm ManEatingTarp over at the CGS board. The Speedball/Moony series has been cracking my shit up for the last week. Year One gets better every week!

Links man? You can't tease us like that.
In my comic reading days there have been very few writer/artist combos that have floored me. Lee and Kirby were before my time. The 80's I might have been too young to think about such things. The 90's were all about the artist. Now in the new millenium and maybe since I'm older and have REALLY just immersed myself in this medium a few teams stand out. Bendis/Maleev, Bendis/Bagley, Bendis/Oeming (I LIKE BENDIS LEAVE ME ALONE), and Brubaker/Lark. Since Scene of the Crime you knew these two guys were meant to work together, they compliment each other. You saw it on Gotham Central (w/ Rucka) and you see it on Captain America and I'm all a flutter with what they'll do on Daredevil.

Totally agree Denny.
I'd throw Azzarello/Risso into that group also.
For thelink to Mike's stuff, just click on the Year One banner in his sig. Prepare to spend some time, and laugh a lot...

Quick question, I've only read a few strips, love them by the way, but has Marvel ever approached you? Either in the hiring capacity ala' Chris Giarusso or in the cease and desist capacity?
And more importantly, do you sell your strips??? :)
One metre tall...heh, you use the metric system.

Heh. Yep, I'm Australian so..
Ah..with regard to marvel - i approached them. Actually emailed Joe Quesada about t all. he helped me through discussions with the legal team and weve come to an arrangement so i can keep on doing the strip. There is a possibility of actually being able to do it for Marvel - Which would be awesome - but nothings come of it yet..just a big maybe at the moment.
Glad you like the strip and Hamburgerpimp? Yeah, i recognised your avatar ;) Thanks for the plug by the way, i'll paypal you your usual amount ;)
Edit: forgot to add that Joe likes the strip and even owns a few of the original strips. I said he could have hem for free but im getting a page or two of orignal JQ art which is damn cool of him.

I've never followed a Captain America title before, but I've been really enjoying this one. I'm definitely looking forward to the new issue, thanks to Lark and best wishes to Epting and his family.:D
